Liddle held a very successful rummage sale. First prize in the draw, a case of pop, was won by Patti Barger; second, a chocolate rabbit, by Jeff Alton and third, Easter eggs by Mr. Hazlitt. The "Guessing the 'Candies" contest resulted in first prize going CGIT Held Tea Party On Monday evening Lucknow Canadian Girls in Training enter- tained their mothers, mystery mothers and adopted grandmoth- erS) at a tea party. Mrs. Jane Treleaven and Mrs. Margaret Finlay made tea while Mrs. Lois Walden and Mrs. Bernadean Ritchie poured. Each girl served tea, punch and cookies at tables decorated With fresh daffodils. President Barbara Loree, wel- comed everyone and told how 'meaningful it had been to have adopted, grandmothers. 'Mrs. Bonnie Ackert spoke on behalf of the mystery mothers and Mrs. Evelyn Little thanked the girls on behalf of the adopted g ndmoth- ers. Leader Laura Lee Cav y thank- ed everyone for participating in this two month project. The other C.G.I.T. leaders Shirley Colwell, Elizabeth Ritchie and Napcy Rit- chie were introduced. The girls were reminded of necessary items for the weekend Rockathon. The Rally on May 14 and Graduation on May 9 were announced. Mrs. Shirley Colwell led in a sing song accompanied at the piano by Mary Lynn Cayley. Kendra Hald- enby, Judy Hunter, , Barbara Maize, Elizabeth Black and Shirley Loree led in a worship on hands. Everyone joined in a circle for a dedication of hands and Taps. ested parents are cordially invited. The Health Unit has recently provided for student viewing 2 films, one on Nutrition, the other on Smoking. Class pictures are being taken next week, Tuesday, April 1.9 at the school. These will be' available for students interested in buying several weeks from now. On Wednesday, April 20 the school will be open to interested parents. A Science and Hobby Fair in which all students will partici- pate is planned for the same day. Practise and planning are contin- uing for the Spring Concert to be held at the school on the evening of May 5. We • are trying to keep a folder this month ,to show our parents our day by day work. We completed our stories on Spring and have them on display. PUBLIC SPEAKING On Wednesday, April 6, we held a public speaking contest in the gym. There Ricky Martin, Larry Needham, Janice Needham, Leah Coulbeck and Rodney Sutton competed against students from Lucknow and Holyrood. The judges were Rev. Bushell, Mr. VanRooyen and Mrs. Douglas. Ricky won and Larry was runner-up. Ricky will now compete for the County Championship. OPEN HOUSE Open House will be held on Wednesday, April 20,. 1977 at 7.00 p.m. PAGE FIFTEEN on Sunday afternoon at St. Thomas' Anglican Church, Walker- ton, arranged by the North and South Saugeen Deaneries. Lois Nicholson has been visiting with her sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Collison and Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Langford and family at Woodstock. Mrs. Art Haldenby entertained ladies at her home on Monday at a church bale quilting. The program planning commit- tee of the Holyrood Women's Institute met on Tuesday. evening at the home of Mrs. Bill MacPher- son. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Nicholson were Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Nicholson of Ripley and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Stark of Kincardine. On Friday Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hodgkinson of Goder- ich visited at the same home. to Martha Curran an second prize to Charlene Elphick. On Wednesday of the same week Mr. J. Consitt of the Royal Bank in Lucknow spoke to both Grade' 8 classes on Banking, after which they had a question and answer period. Next week is Education Week at the school and the schedule is fairly complete. Monday is Orientation Night at F. E. Madill High School for the Grade 8 students. The same afternoon at 2 p.m. the O:P.P. in conjunction with the Huron County Health Unit is presenting a film on "Babysitting" to which any inter- KINLOUGH Rev. Andrew Lane of Goderich and his nephew Robert MacDonald of Toronto visited Friday with Mt. and Mrs. Frank Maulden and Keith. Mr. and Mrs. Ken MacDonald returned home from their trip to California. Carl and Lisa are back at home too with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Breckles are home from their tr ip to the Sunny South.
