Master of ceremonies was ,John Austin. A poem written by Aubrey Higgins, and read at the dinner to Mr. Austin, is as follows: Some eighty-five years ago, In this community, A baby was born into this world, Yes, quite expectedly. He was an awful looking runt, No hair, all red and wrinkled But when they gave him that big slap He did not cry, he tinkled. His parents thought of sending him back, But then, they let him stay Oh, Yes! He is alive and well, That is why we are here today. They did not know what to call him But, finally decided on Frank, And frank he is in every deed, To you 'and I and every rank. He grew up a fine young man, And as you will all agree, He married the lddy of his choice, And raised a family. I am truly glad to have known you, And have you call me friend, We do not have many years to go, But our friendship never ends. So in wishing you a "Happy Birthday", As Mame and I both do, Let's wish for many more of them, And a party for each one, too. Now all you people gathered here, You came with outstretched hand, Let's show him how we honour him, Will everybody stand. Happy Birthday and For He's a Jolly Good Fellow 'were sung with accompaniment on the piano by Mrs. Jack Kinney. A social hour with cards and pictures taken followed in the parish hall.
