Well, last Saturday the Ripley
Midget hockey team won the All
Ontario O.M.H.A. Midget F
Championship by outscoring Oak-
wood 7 to 3. This' fifth game in the
best of seven series was played in
the Lindsay arena. Two games
were played on each of the two
previous weekends. Two weeks
ago it was a split even affair with
Oakwood winning a game here.
Then back in Oakwood the next
iweekend, Ripley made it 3 to I,
taking both games. In that foUrth
game, and playing with an injured
wrist, Mike Pollock got four goals
in the third period.
About ten-thirty, the two buses
and several cars returned to Ripley
last Saturday evening coming in
the fifteenth north. The shouts of
"we won" could be easily heard on
the clear evening air as they rolled
into Ripley and down to the
tirehall. Here the fire engines were
brought out and a victory parade
formed up. It came north, then
around the Royal Bank corner, west
to the Complex-. Here the reception
dance, in honour of newlyweds Mr.
and Mrs. John McCharles of
Petrolia, was being held.
