The Lucknow Bantam hockey
team was defeated by the Port
Carling Bantams in the Ontario
Minor Hockey Association DD
'finals in Port Carling on Sunday,
April 10.
This series gave the fans
excellent hockey to watch as both
teams were evenly matched.
On Friday, April 8 Port Carling
won 4-3. 'Back in Port Carling on
Sunday, Lucknow lost by a 10-0
score. This gave Port Carling the
series, three games to one.
After the game the Lucknow
Bantams received the runner-up
trophy and each team member
received a crest which °was
presented by the O.M.H.A. rep-
resentative George Dobson.
The Lucknow team and their fans
were then invited by the Port
Carling Lions Club to a luncheon,
where each team was given a
standing ovation by the parents
and fans who gathered. The
friendly hospitality shown by the
people of Port Carling will always
be remembered by the Lucknow
team. It makes losing a lot easier
when the losing team is treated and
honoured in the same manner as
the team that won.
The Lucknow Bantam team
The Bantam team for this season
and each boy's scoring summary, is
as follows:
would like to thank their parents
and their loyal fans for a good
season and also to Lorne Reid for
keeping their skates in good
condition, Frank Pentland for his
donations to the team, and last, but
not least, Cec Garniss and the
Bluebird.
There is a thought I would like to
share with you parents as this
season of hockey closes.
Our children are our reflection.
We as parents must try and keep it
a good one --- "For we pass this
way but once".
And to the boys of the team ---

Be careful how you step as every
