Bantams Tied One Game
Each In Ontario Finals
The Lucknow Bantam hockey
team and the Port Carling Bantams
played their first game of the
Ontario Minor Hockey Association
finals here at the arena on
Saturday, April 2nd. Lucknow won
this game by a score of 5-3. .
It was either team's game until
the third period and Lucknow,
having the advantage of home ice
and home town fans, came on
srong and scored three quick goals:
Lucknow then kept the play in , the
Port Carling end for the remainder
of the game.
Sunday, April the 3rd, Lucknow
went to Port Carling and were
defeated by Port Carling 8-3. This
was a real ragged game-. Lblektli3OW
played their best, but had three

and 5 playoff and 3 consolation

them. Jerry Searle and Scott Rivett
shared the goaltending for a 2.71

The third game in the best of five
series is on Good Friday in
Lucknow at 7 p.m. The team is
inviting fans to come out and cheer
thetn on. Home town support
means a lot to these boys so come
on, let's go Lucknow and surround-
ing area to the arena Friday, April
8th at .7 p.m. Give a cheer for the
home town boys.

Hockey Season
Lucknow Atom hockey team
participated in the Mildmay Atom
Tournament Saturday, April 2nd,
Lucknow coming up against At-
wood for a 10.45 a.m. game. A very
close game followed with Atwood
coming up with the winning goal in
a 2-1 finish.
Scoring for Lucknow were Grant
Murray with Don PeterSon and
Steve Alton, one assist each.
Lucknow Atoms wrapped up
their hockey season in fine style
pulling out a win over Ripley
Monday, April 4th in 'Lucknow
arena. Scoring the two winning
goals were Grant Murray and Don
Peterson, assisted by Todd Ritchie
2, Grant Murray 1.
As the hockey season comes' to
an end, Charlie Murray, coach and
Wayne Jerome, manager,, wish to
thank all the boys of the Atom team
for putting forth their efforts in
making for a successful hockey
team, to the parents who so
faithfully brought the boys to
practice and willingly helped in any
other way, also to, the home town
paper for the excellent coverage of
all the games.
Attended Training
Carl Schlueter, serviceman for
Ronald Stanley Farm Supplies,
Kincardine, returned from a week-
long training program at the Sperry
New Holland Service Training
School at New Holland, Penna..
While- at the training centre he
attended classes and service shop
instruction sessions in the service
and repair of the company's farm
equipment.
Sperry New Holland service
training schools utilize some of the
most modern training facilities in
the nation for instructing dealer
and company servicemen in farm
machinery repairs.

John Hunter returned home from
Wingham Hospital on Saturday
after being hospitalized for almost
three weeks.
Mrs. Charles Wilkins and Mrs.
Eldon Mann of Lucknow visited
Thursday of last week at the home
of the former's daughter Barbara,
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sheppard of
Brantford.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Helm and
family had a family get together at
Sunday supper for her sister
Margaret Pollard and Ed Rowland
of Point Clark, who are leaving
shortly for Calgary, Alberta. Those
present were her mother, Mrs.
Elmer Pollard and Carol; her
brother, Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Pollard; her sister, Mr. and Mrs.
Ronald Farrell and family, all of
Ripley.
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Ritchie and
Bryce, John Ritchie and Ken, Mr.
and Mrs. Jerry (Brenda) Huizinga
and Pauline of Auburn were invited
to Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Ritchie's
of Lucknow for a birthday dinner
for Allan's father, Wesley Ritchie
on April 3rd.
Mr. and Mrs. Russel Swan and
family had his brother Mr. and
Mrs. Earl Swan and Chris of
Cambrdige (Galt) visit , Saturday
evening and Sunday.
