New Lions Head
School Principal
When school opens next Sept-
ember, the Bruce Peninsula Dist-
rict School in Lion's Head will have
as its principal John F. Miller. Mr.
Miller will replace Paul Cole who
has been appointed principal of the
Wiarton District High School.
For the past eleven years Mr.
Miller has been on the staff of the
Walkerton District Secondary
School -- the, last two years as
Administrative • Assistant to the
Principal.
Mr. Miller is a' graduate of
Wilfrid Laurier University and the
Ontario College of Education. He
holds Specialist Certificates in
Accountancy and Data Processing
and has done graduate work at
Niagara University.
Mr. Miller was born in Wiarton.
and is married to the former Betty
Sadler, also of Wiarton. They have
three children ranging in age from
four to ten.
Mr. Miller is past president of
the Walkerton Rotary Club, Deacon
of Walkerton Baptist Church and a
member of Saugeen Lodge.

Bruce Hamilton of Lucknow
returned home Saturday from
Wingham and District Hospital,
where he had been hospitalized for
a few days.
Cathy Conley, 16-months-old
daughter of Mac and Lorene
Conley of Lucknow, was hospitaliz-
ed in .Wingham last week from
Wednesday to Sunday with pneu-
monia.

Mr. and Mrs. Jas. McWhinney
of Wingham and Mr. and Mrs.
Clayton Nicholson were Sunday
evening guests with Mr. and Mrs.
Harvey Mole, Lucknow.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Collyer, Chris
and Lisa, moved last week to their
newly purchased home on Elgin
Street in Lucknow, one of the
recently constructed homes of
Gerrie Glenn. The Collyers were
formerly residents of Meaford
where Ted was manager of the
Bank of Montreal until being
appointed manager of the Lucknow
branch of the Bank of Montreal a
few weeks ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Webster of
Lucknow have returned home after
spending the winter months at
Hollywood Beach, Florida.
Tony and Murray Johnstone of
Lucknow shared a $100 win in last
week's Wintario lottery.
Winter break visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Harvey Mole, Lucknow
were their grandsons Donnie,
Danny and Shawn Mole from
Courtright.

Social Evening
Mrs. John McDonald and •her
brother Andrew Barkwell were
honoured by their neighbours prior
to leaving their home on concession
2, Huron.
A social evening was held
playing cards. Leonard Courtney
read an address and gifts were
presented by Mrs. Carl Schleuter
and Mrs. Hugh Mason. Mrs.
McDonald received a china tea set
and platter and Mr. Barkwell, a
billfold.
Mrs. McDonald and Mr. Bark-
well are now residing in Lucknow in
an apartment in the Joynt block.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald J. Macln-
tyre of R. R. 5 Lucknow wish to

daughter, Ardonna Elaine, to
James Donald Symes, son of Mr.

A good time was enjoyed at the
Dungannon Orange Hall on Friday
evening with. 11 tables of proges-
sive euchre: Ladies first prize was
won by Mrs. Jim Errington; Mrs.
George Errington and Mrs. Harvey
Alton tied for low prize. Art
Stewart won men's first prize;
Harvey Alton won men's low prize.
Jamie Bere won a prize for having
the birthday nearest April 1 (March
29); Mr., and Mrs. Jim Errington
received a prize for the wedding
anniversary nearest April 1. The
lodge does not plan to hold another
card party this season.
Mrs. Graham McNee, Mrs.
Mary Bere and Miss Debbie Vella
visited Earl McNee in Wingham
Hospital on Thursday evening.
Debbie Vella and Sandra Nivins
visited him on Wednesday even-
ing.
Holy Communion service was
held at Dungannon United Church
on Sunday. Rev. H. G. Dobson
spoke on "How Salvation Becomes
Ours". The choir contributed to the
service with the anthem "Let Us
Break Bread Together" with Shel-
ley Rivett at the organ. Next
Sunday will be the Easter service
with the choir supplying special
music - a good time to have the
pews filled.
Singtime are putting on an
Easter program on Monday, April
11 at 6.30 p.m. on TV 8. Camp
Bimini needs staff - interested
persons should get application
forms from the minister.
Good clothing, shoes, dishes,
new or used, can be brought to the
church by April 20 as the U.C.W. is
packing a bale.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Farrell,
near Kincardine, visited Mrs. Mary
Bere on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hodgins and
Mrs. Sam Stanley of Lucknow
visited with Mr. and Mrs. Chris
SheltOn on Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Pat Brouillette
have returned from Mexico, where
they spent the past two) and, a half
months and missed tfle rigours of
our winter. Pat is presently
working in Toronto and Jan has
returned to her classroom in
Robertson School, Goderich.
The Pastoral Relations Commit-
tee is holding a meeting on Monday
evening at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Cliff McNeil.
Visitors last week with Mr. and
Mrs. Leonard Chisholm and family
and with Alex and Lynn Chisholm
were Mr. and Mrs. Earle Ritcey of
Middleton, Nova Scotia; Mr. and
Mrs. Bruce Payne, Vancouver,
B.C.; Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Payne,
Amherstburg. On Sunday newly-
weds, Leonard and Carolyn' Payne,
who will be making their home in
Edmonton, visited the. Chisholm's.
Timmy Mohring, son of Mr. and
—Mrs. Doug Mohring, has been
with flu and reaction to medication
this past week.
Miss Barbara Blake, Toronto,
spent the weekend with her
mother, Mrs. Cecil Blake.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rivers of
Goderich called on Mrs. Minnie
Jones and Mel last week.
AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY
Dungannon Agricultural Society
held its March meeting on March
23 at the Agricultural Hall. The
treasurer reported all expenses
paid up to date. The Fund Raising
Committee told their plans for a
card party and bake sale. They also
have plans in progress for a public
barbecue and later on a corn roast;
The directors have been revising
the prize list and some time was
spent checking the results. Most of
the material for the prize list
booklets is ready for printing.
Tom Webster ' and Ron Alton
have conducted .a successful can-
vass of the Lucknow-Dungannon
area. Ben Mole and Gordon Smyth
have been canvassing in Goderich.
The next meeting will be on the
fourth Wednesday of April.
