QUOTABLE QUOTES Modern technology has develop- ed a beer can which, when tossed away, lasts foreVer, and a $5,000 car that rusts out in three years no matter how well you take care of it. WORLD FOOD PRICES!! Does this make us look better? Some countries like Argentina, show remarkably low prices for some foods. Rigid price controls are maintained there for the benefit of vocal consumers. But Argentines have to put up with meatless days and very unhappy meat producers. European prices, on the other hand, reflect Common Market subsidy policies which are design- ed to keep farm prices high at the expense of consumers.
