P3R1117Pat n'alk a NOCk.TOti4y LANGSIDE Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bregman attended the convention of the Agricultural Societies of Canada held in the Royal York Hotel, Toronto last Wednesday and Thursday. On Thursday 'evening they visited with Bob's sister and family before returning home. Mrs. Stokes of Teeswater stayed at the Bregman farm with their daughters in their absence. Mrs. Wm. Bates, who is active in the ladies' department of the society, also attended the convention. Congratulations,to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Carere on the birth of a daughter in Wingham Hospital on February 16. Mr. and Mrs. Carere live on the former Brooks farm, now owned by Bob .Bregman. John Moffat of Teeswater is again a patient in Wingham Hospital. We hope he will soon feel better again. Ernie Hanna of the tenth of Kinloss is still a patient in Victoria Hospital, London. We understand he is much improved and expects to soon be able to come home. Sharon Struthers of Lucknow spent the weekend with her, cousins, Karen and Liane Young. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Young visited Wednesday evening with his sister Mrs. May Richardson of Wingham. Mrs. Richardson spent most of the winter with her daughter Mrs. Glazier and grand- sons in Oshawa. Her daughter Underwent a serious operation in December. Mrs. Don Bell, Wayne and Beverley and Mrs. Philip Steer spent Saturday in London visiting 'relatives and also called on Ernie Hanna in Victoria Hospital. Wesley Young of Lucknow called on Bob and Dick Orr on Sunday. Joanne Bongertman of Lucknow spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bongertman and also visited Sat- urday evening with her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bongertman and Lou-Ann. West Wawanosh Lady Passes MRS. JOHN CAMERON Mrs. John Cameron of West Wawanosh Township passed away on Wednesday, February 9th at University Hospital, London in her 79th year. Her death was attributed to a heart condition following surgery, which she had earlier undergone to correct a hip, fracture. The late Mrs. Cameron, the former Mary Margaret Durnin, was born in West Wawanosh Township on September 22, 1898, a daughter of James Durnin and Catherine Webster. On July 4, 1929 at St. Helens she married John Cameron of West Wawanosh. He passed away in June, 1975. Surviving is one son Don Cameron of R. R. 2 Lucknow, three grandchildren and one brother Earl Durnin of West Wawanosh. The funeral service was held on Thursday, February 10th at Mac- Kenzie Memorial Chapel, Luck- now. Rev.. A. Cook, minister of St. Helens United Church of which the deceased was a member, was minister. Temporary entombment was at South Kinloss Mausoleum. ZION Larry Wilkins had 10 days holidays from Ridgetown College in Ridgetown at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilkins and family. Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Hackett and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hackett left for the South last Friday for some holidays. Mr, and Mrs. Gordon Kirkland had as visitors Mrs. William Reid and Jack of 6th .concession, Ashfield, Sunday afternoon: Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hunter had their daughter Wanda, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Miller of Barrie, for the weekend. Wanda's grandfather Dan Nicholson of Lucknow also spent the weekend. On Sunday Allan and Karen Nicholson of Shelburne and Joanne Barrie visited at the home of their aunt. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hunter. Frank Ritchie returned home after 61/2 weeks in Wingham Hospital. Mrs. Allan Gibson attended a relative bridal shower for her niece Rhonda Gibson of Whitechurch on Sunday afternoon at the home of the bride's .grandmother, Mrs. Marshall Gibson of Lucknow. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Helm, Janine and Douglas visited Sunday at the home of her mother, Mrs. Elmer Pollard of Ripley and her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Pollard. Murray, Grade 2 student at Kinloss. Grade 3 and 4 Division: 1st Dianne Wilson, Grade 3 student at Lucknow;- 2nd Dorothy Lennips, Grade 4 student at Lucknow; 3rd Heather MacDougall, Grade 3 student at Kinloss. Grade 5 and 6 Division: 1st Mark Ackert, Grade 5 student at Kinloss; 2nd Elizabeth Jefferson; Grade 6 student at Brookside; 3rd Janice Pollock, Grade 6 student at Brookside. Grade 7 and 8 Division: 1st' Jackie Dalton, Grade 7 student at Kingsbridge; 2nd Betty Knoop, Grade 7 student at Kingsbridge; 3rd Elizabeth Wilkins, Grade 7 student at Brookside. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Ritchie and Bryce had their daughter Brenda, Mr. and MrS. Jerry Huizinga and Pauline of 'Auburn, for Sunday dinner and later visited her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wes- ley Ritchie of Lucknow. Mr. and Mrs. Russel Swan and family visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. ' Gordon Emmerton of Kin- cardine who had returned home after being in Florida since December 28th.
