Compare at 829.95 THE LUCKNOW SENTINEL, LUCKNOW, ONTARIO WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 1977 The death of Ezekiel Herman Phillips of Lucknow occurred at Wingham and District Hospital on Wednesday, January 26th in his 88th year. He was born at St. Helens on June 27th, 1889, a son, of Thomas Phillips and Margaret Durnin. In 1917 he married Mary Ellen Campbell. She passed away in September 1972. The late Mr. Phillips farmed in Ashfield and also owned and operated for 25 years a chopping mill on concession 9. He and Mrs. Phillips retired to Lucknow in April 1964, where they resided in the Ashton Apartments on Campbell Street. He is survived by three daught- ers Mrs., Clarence (Eda) Hardy, Mrs. Carman (Margaret) Brindley and Mrs. Frank (Kathleen) Baer, all of Colborne Township and four sons Lorne of Luckstow, Tom of Kinloss Township, Bill of Ashfield JURJENS - to JOanne and Gerry Jurjens of R. R. 3 Goderich in Alexandra and Marine General Hospital, Goderich on Thursday, February 10, 1977 ,a daughter, Angela Kristin, first granchild for Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jurjens of R. R. 7 Lucknow and another grand- child for Mr. and Mrs. Peter Van Dam, R. R. 5 Lucknow. Township and Donald of Colborne Township. Besides his wife he was prede- ceased by two sons and an infant daughter. The funeral service was held at MacKenzie Memorial Chapel, Lucknow on Friday, January 28th. Rev. Doug Kaufman of Lucknow United Church, of which the deceased was a member, conduct- ed• the service. Pallbearers were six grandsons, Bryan and Keith Baer, Bob Phillips, Ross Brindley, Jack and Glenn Phillips. Temporary entombment was at South Kinloss Mausoleum with spring interment at Greenhill Cemetery. KINLOUGH Mrs. Glen Wilson and chill:Wen spent the week with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Shaw and Wendy, concession 14. Mr. Wilson spent the weekend at the Shaw home and the family returned home to Toronto on Sunday. Wayne Percy of Wingham spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Haldenby and family. Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Vickers of concession 14 in the sudden death of her husband. Mrs. Vickers and Mrs. Guest are sisters. Mrs. Glen Haldenby spent some time, during last week with Mrs. Margaret Kenyon, helpiung her to get ready to move on Saturday last to London, where she and her family will reside. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Phillips of Fonthill visited recently with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Maulden and Keith. Jack Scott was admitted to University Hospital on Sunday. Mrs. Scott is staying with Mrs. Karl Boyle. The Holyrood Women's Institute held a euchre party at , the hall on Tuesday evening with 5 tables in play. High lady, Mrs. Rita Weber, high gent, Ellwood Elliott. Special prize, Donald Murray. Mr. and Mrs. MOrley Bushell of Wingham visited on Tuesday of last week with her mother Mrs. John Barr and they all called at the Maulden home in the afternoon. • Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bennett of Toronto visited last weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Art Haldenby. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Hackett of R. R. 7 Lucknow returned home last weekend from a seven week holiday trip to Florida. The last ten days they visited in Georgia with his cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hackett. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Mac- Leod of Lucknow returned last week from a three-week holiday in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Mills and Heather of Brampton spent last week-end in Lucknow with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Campbell. In renewing her Sent inel sub- scription Mrs. A. L. (Ruth) Brown of Vancouver, B.C. writes, "It is interesting to read about the winter you are having. We are having the best weather here that we have had since coming west nineteen years ago but I can still remember some of those Ontario winters when I was growing up." Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Collyer, Lucknow, spent last weekend in Meaford with Mr. and Mrs. Ted Collyer, Chris and Lisa. Among the $25.00 winners in the last Wintario draw were: Mrs. John Gaunt of Whitechurch and Charlie Wilkins of Ashfield. Mrs. Tom Anderson of Lucknow is home from Victoria Hospital, London, Where she was a patient for three weeks following surgery. Mr.. and Mrs. Art Breckles, Lucknow, returned home on Thurs- day of last week from Brandon, Florida, where they have been spending the winter. Mrs. Brecklek has not been well and is now a patient at Victoria Hospital, London.
