week, Mrs. Edith Henderson,
along with Mr. and Mrs. Murray
Weber, arrived home from' London.
They were visiting with Mrs.
Henderson's husband - William
Henderson, who is a patient in
University Hospital there.
Last Friday, Mrs. Evelyn Bridge
reported the condition of her
husband Gordon, unchanged. he
has been in Victoria Hospital in
London since Wednesday, January
26.
Noticed back home this past
week is Leonard Irwin who was a
patient in Kincardine Hospital for
treatment.

Very ill in Kincardine Hospital is
Ardill Mason of Ripley. Mrs.
Mason had the misfortune to suffer
a broken arm over a week ago.
Their daughter Rita, who has been
here, returned home to. London and
at present their son Jack is here.

Vice principal George Armstrong
is in charge of arrangements for
to-day's annual Science fair held in
the Ripley High School - that is
to-day, Thursday, February 17th
when the students will have their,
projects judged and on display.

Home for the weekend was Miss
Jean MacDonald of the staff at Pine
Lodge Rest Home in Lucknow.

The Pee Wee series, Lions Head
vs Ripley, will be held in the Ripley
Complex at four this Saturday
afternoon. Mrs.' Helen Grubb
reports that it is a playoff game.

at Anne McCoslies Wednesday and
Thursday. They completed a
beautiful Heirloom Quilt. We hear'
Mrs. Carol Fludder, Mrs. Judy
VanKooten, Mrs. Peg Seller also
completed a quilt in their homes
this week too.

were Saturday visitors with their
daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Stewart Farrell, concession

Rev. Wm. and Mrs. Mary'
Colwell . of Allen Park, Michigan,
braved the blizzards to come up to
Ripley and spent the weekend with
their cousins Don and Anne
McCosh.
Miss Betty MacDonald of Cree-
more was a recent guest of her
aunt, Miss Gertrude Kidney.
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Gemmell
are holidaying in Florida.
Mrs. Jene Seller and, Mrs. Earl
Lohnes entertained friends and
neighbours 'at quilting parties in
their homes the last few days.
Mrs. Reta Webster returned to
her home in London on Friday,
after spending a week helping her
mother, Mrs. Ardill Mason, who
had ihe misfortune to break' her
arm. We wish Gladys a good
recovery.
Mrs. Norma McLennan is spend-
ing a few week's with her family in
after holidaying with Cliff's sister
Muriel and husband, Mr. and Mrs.
Alex MacAuley, and other friends
and relatives here.
Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Gawley flew
back to their Powell River Home in
B.C. They visited with sisters
Ethel and Lettie Gawley and
brother Victor and Mrs. Gawley at
Purple Grove.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim McEwan of
Kinloss Corners visited with Joy-
ce's mother, Mrs. Gladys Arnold
on Sunday.
WHITECHURCH
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Campbell
of Listowel were weekend visitors
with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Rintoul.
Miss Glenna Wilkens attended a
skidoo dance at Palmerston and
spent the weekend with her brother
Bill Wilkens, Mrs. Wilkens and
family of Gowanstown.
True to tradition o February with
puff and blow fills the ditches with
the snow. On Sunday we again had
puff and blow filling in the
sideroads and concessions so that
Monday there were many schbol
cancellations.
Mrs. George Tiffin of Lucknow
visited Saturday with Mr. and Mrs.
Wesley Tiffin and Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Mowbray Saturday even-
ing. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McMillan
of Watford also visited at the same
home and Mrs. Tiffin returned
home to Lucknow with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Brian Falconer of
Sarnia spent the weekend with her
parents, Mr. and 'Mrs. Wallace
Milligan. Kevin Falconer returned
to Sarnia with them for a week's
visit.
Mrs. Earl Caslick spent the week
end with Mr. and Mrs. Russel Ross
of Wingham.
Mr. and Mrs. Relison Falconer,
Paul and Lynn of Sarnia spent the
weekend with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Mowbray.
Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rintoul were
Thursday evening visitors with her
mother, Mrs. Corey, at Clinton
Hospital and her father, Joe Corey
at Clinton.
Bill Purdon of river sideroad had
the misfortune to 'have the north
side roof of the pit silo collapse with
the weight of snow..
Mr. and Mrs. Earl WilkenS' were
in London on Thursday at Univer-
sity Hospital for checkups.
Mrs. Bev Kay accompanied by
Mrs. Wayne Baswick and family
of Bluevale were at Knox College
on Thursday at Toronto, where
their husbands are 3rd graduating
ministers.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Emerson,
Darlene, Sharon and Brenda of St.
Catharines spent the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson.
Whitechurch Women's Institute
Sunshine and Cheer committee,
Mrs. Fred Tiffin and Mrs. John
Gaunt and assistants packed Valen-
tine boxes for the ill, shutins and
over 80 of the community and
former residents of the community.
We are pleased to report that
Terry Jamieson of West Wawa-
nosh, who had been injured in a
snowmobile accident and under-
gone surgery at London Hospital,
returned home on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Emerson of
St. Catharines were Saturday
evening visitors with Mr. and Mrs.
Earl. Jamieson and Terry of East
Wawanosh.
Communion services were held
at Chalmer's Church on Sunday
with moderator Rev. Glenn Noble
in charge.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Greenwood,
son . Jean-Paul and dog Toby
returned to their village home after
being storm-stayed with Mr. and
Mrs. John Farrell and Teresa at
Purple Grove.
Mrs. Mary Donnie MacDonald
and Mrs. Annie Joe Scott were
Sunday dinner guests of Mrs.
Gladys' Huston at her new home in
Huron Villa.
Mr. and Mrs. John Peet of Owen
Sound spent the weekend here with
John's parents Mr. and Mrs. Nick
Peet.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Elliott and Ian
of Windsor were up to their farm
for the weekend.
