Storm Strands
Travellers Al
Kingsbridge .
KINGSBRIDGE NEWS
Many, many people were strand-
ed in homes along Highway 21 last
weekend due to the severe
snowstorm •and zero visiblity.
Approximately 20 persons were
stranded at Sullivan's Restaurant,
Kingsbridge. Dave Rudell, a
London Free Press employee, was
one of those stranded. Others were
Henry Ford of Strathroy, an
employee at Douglas Point; Michey .
and Pam Rosich, Joe Roszka, Tom
Laethem and Joe Pawyl, skiers
from Detroit, Michigan; Dave Grix
from Pleasant Ridge, Michigan and
Terry Fuller of Southfield, Michi-
gan. Others were from Sarnia and
London.
Visibility was- so bad that two
persons in cars got out to lead the
way with flashlights. It took them
about four hours to travel the three
miles from Kintail to Kingsbridge
before they finally gave up when
they sighted the Restaurant. The
occupants of the cars, strangers
until Sunday night, spent all day
Monday in the restaurant getting to
know each other and playing cards.
They were able to get on their way
on Tuesday after the snowplow and
the blower cleared a path: They
have many pictures of the snow and
the new friends they made to
remind them of their experience.
