Lucknow scored six goals before Ripley could get organized to count twice in the third period. Tom Sinnett and Grant Gilchrist each scored twice for Lucknow with singles going to Mark Frayne and Ron Johnson. Assists went to Mark Frayne 2, Ron Johnson 2, Steve Hamilton 2, and Dan Londry 1 The Lucknow Midgets held their first 50-50 draw with Mrs. Lorna Guay the lucky winner of $97.75. The second draw will be February 1, 1977. Get your ticket and help support the local team. Juveniles Lose Pair On Weekend After a winning streak Lucknow Juveniles couldn't stand prosperity and lost 2 games on the weekend. Playing in Clinton on Saturday, January 22nd, they dropped a 7-4 decision with local marksmen Doug Shiell, Randy Alton, Tom Peterson, and Tam Forster getting I goal each. Assists went to Doug Shiell 1, Tam Forster 2 and John McLeod 2. John McLeod should have recognition in this game for his fine defensive plays and was voted #1 by his fellow team mates. On Sunday, they dropped anoth- er game to Harriston with scoring points going to Randy Alton 1 and Mark Frayne 2. Assists went to Rick Taylor I, John McLeod 1, Terry Armstrong 1 and Grant Gilchrist 1. Absent from this game was Tom Petersen with the flu and Doug Shiell with an injury he received from Saturday game. Next game is Wednesday night, the 26th, Lusknow will host Walkerton. The bad weather has played havock with the hockey schedule as well as other activities. The Lancer report has missed the paper two weeks in a row because the writer couldn't make it to town to deliver on Monday. The Lancers have had a tough schedule since last writing, drop- ping a close game to Port Elgin 4-2 in one of their best games of the season on January 9 at home. The following weekend the Lancers represented themselves well in the Milverton tournament, playing three games there as, well as a league game in Mitchell. In three games it took sixteen minutes of overtime for Mount Forest to knock them out of the consolation championship game. Since the tournament, things weather, injuries and shift work shrinking our roster. The last House League On Saturday, January 22nd, in the first game, the Canadiens defeated the Bruins 4 to 2. Hugh Burgsma, Jim Foran, Kevin Leddy and Duane Rivett potted goals for the Canadians. Steve Frayne and Carl Courtney replied for the Bruins. In the second game, the Black Hawks edged the Red Wings 3 to 2. Terry Brown with a pair and Jim Hawthorne were the marksmen for the Black Hawks. John Edishury and Glen Haldenby dented the twine for the Red Wings. In the third game, the Leafs blanked the Rangers 4 to 0. Kevin Lindsay, Garry VanBeers, Brent VanOsch and Ken Ritchie tallied for the Leafs. David Preiss ,registered the shut out. Playoff dates are March 12th and 19th . Schedule for January 29th, 10:00 Red Wings vs Leafs, 11:00 Canadiens vs Rangers, 12:00 Bruins vs Black Hawks. have gone badly, what with game against Clinton on a stormy Friday night, we had to call up some Juveniles and a few members from the bush league to ice a team. Needless to say, even-with a strong effort„ they came out on a losing end in the contest. The Lancers are in a real battle for second spot in the standing with Clinton and hope our fans will continue to give more of the fine support to boost the boys' morale. The next home game is with Fergus on Sunday, January 30. Come out and cheer the boys on to victory. Mom Hockey On December 20th, Mildmay Atoms won over Lucknow 4-1. Scoring the only Lucknow goal was Grant Murray. Assists went to Todd Ritchie and Don Peterson. On December 28th, an exhibition game was played with Lucknow losing 5-4 to Ripley. Scoring for Lucknow were Steven Alton, Todd Ritchie, Grant Murray and Don Peterson. Assists went to Todd Ritchie 2, Grant Murray, ' Lynn Murray, each I. Ripley scorers were Paul Keller, Mitch Twolen, Paul Harris (2), Mike Nicholson. Assists went to Danny Wood, Paul Keller (2). December 30th, an exhibition game was played with Wingham in Lucknow with Lucknow winning 3-0. Scorers for Lucknow iyere Grant Murray 2; Steve Alton 1. Don Peterson had 2 assists. January 7th, Lucknow visited Ripley, winning 3.1. Lucknow scorers were Don Peterson 2, Todd Ritchie I. Assists went to Grant Murray and Todd Ritchie. January 8th, Lucknow went to Listowel winning 4-0. Scorers were Steve Alton, Todd Ritchie, Grant Murray, Lynn Murray. Assists went to Don Peterson 2, Grant Murray, Lynn Murray, Mike Crump and Lawrence Clarke. Skating Club Pass Jests Ten members of the Lucknow Skating Club attended a Test Day in Mildmay Arena recently. • Five, of these were successful in getting their dances: Dutch Waltz, Brenda Phillips, Jackie Beasley; Fiesta Tango, Judy Hunter; Wil-., low, Patricia Barger; Ten Fox, Sandra Irwin. Sandra has now completed her Junior Bronze Division. The club held a successful draw at Christmas. • Mrs. Jack McDon'agh was the . winner of the hamper of groceries. Mrs. Irene Markham was the winner of a dinner for two at the Sepoy Drive-1n and Barry McDon- agh won the Christmas cake donated by Lucknow Home Bakery. Plans are being made for the Kinsmen Compete In Tournament The Lucknow and District: Kins- men Club hockey team competed in a hockey tournament on Saturday of last week, hosted by the Monkton Kinsmen. Eight teams comprising of clubs from Clinton, Drayton, Goderich, Monkton, List- owel, Harriston, Lucknow and Mitchell, took part. Drayton defeated Lucknow 2-1. ' and in Lucknow's second game, the score was Lucknow 0, Listowel 0. Clinton won 'the championship. The day was completed with a dance. On Sunday, president Brian Johnston and Tony Johnstone. attended the Mid Term Kinsmen Presidents' meeting held in Listow- el. There will be a meeting to discuss the carnival Thursday, January 27 at 4.30 p.m. The skating' club has collected $80 in Zehrs cash register tapes. carnival, the theme being "Snow- ball Express". This carnival is to be held March 12.
