On January 16th, all of us will be
urged 'to recognize the essential
oneness of all religion during the
observance of World Religion Day.
The inspiration for World Relig-
ion Day comes from the writings of
a Persian, who lived in the last
century. He is known by the title
Balia'u'llah, or, Glory of God. He
taught that religion, whether it be
called Hinduism, Judaism, Zoroas-
trianism, Buddhism, Christianity
or Islam, derived its inspiration'
from the' same Divine Source. Each
was not only to be considered true
in its fundamental teaching, he
said, but connected to all the others
within one unfolding and progres-
sive revelation of God.
To emphasize the contribution all
religions have made 'towards im-

My love is My stronghold; he
that entereth therein is safe and
secure, and he that turneth
away shall surely stray and
perish.

animating the Faith of God-
and His Religion is to
safeguard the interests
and promote the unity
of the human race..."

WORLD RELIGION DAY
JANUARY 16th
proving understanding between
peoples, World Religion Day
focusses on the theme, "Belief in
God strengthens the basis of all
human relationships". Neivspaper
ads and articles, and 'a specially
prepared 30-second TV spot, which
will be run on CKNX, will help
bring this idea to the attention of
the public. In addition a World
Religion Day observance will take
place in the Township Hall at
Holyrood on Sunday, January 16 at
2 p.m. Jim and Mary Belchamber
of Burlington will present slides of
their trip to the Holy Land. The
show is called 'A Pilgrimage To

(Judaism, Christianity, Islam,
