Juveniles Win
Kincardine Tourny
Lucknow Juveniles participated
in Kincardine Winter Games
Tournament held in the Christmas
break.
Playing the best hockey of the;
season, they defeated Walkerton
6-3 in the 1st game and Pert Elgin
5-3 in the 2nd game and. Howick 5-3
in the final game, to take the
championship.
Management has great praise for
the boys stamina, playing 3 games
in 1 day and coming from behind in
every game to win. '

Hockey Results
On January 8th in the first game,
the Rangers edged the Red Wings
4 to 3. Richard Jurjens with a pair,
Mike Austin and Jim VanOsch
were the marksmen for the
Rangers. John Edisbury with 2 and
Glen Haldenby replied for the Red
Wings.
In the second game, the Canad-
iens trimmed the Black Hawks 5 to

The Lucknow Bantams, started
the New Year off by defeating the
Tiverton Bantams here at the arena
on Monday, January 3_by a score of
7-3. Scoring goals for Lucknow
were: Allan Rivett 3, Brian Elphick
2, Steve MacPherson 1, Paul
Hamilton 1, Don Elliott 1.
Assists went to: Allan Rivett 3,
Brad Humphrey 2, Steve MacPher-
son 1, Doug Dorscht 1, Barry
Elphick 1, Don Elliott 1.
The Lucknow Bantams have lost
only one game this season, this was
to Mildmay on December 20. The
score was 5-2 for Mildmay. Barry
Elphick scored Lucknow's 2 goals.
1. Fred Martin led the attack with
a pair. Singles went to Bernie
Burgsma, Duane Rivett and Jim
Foran. Brian Arnold was the lone
scorer for the Hawks.
In the final game the Leafs and
Bruins battled to a 2-2 draw. Ed,
Ken and Brent VanOsch tallied for
the Leafs. Eddie Davidson, Colin
Cameron and Carl Courtney dented
the twine for the Bruins.

a 9 - 6 decision to Kincardine to end
their winning streak at 5 games.
Marksmen were Mark Frayne, 2
goals, 1 assist; Tom Peterson, 1
goal, 1 assist; Randy Alton, 1 goal,
1 assist; Rbd Simpson, 1 goal;
Doug Shiell, 1 goal; Tam Forster 2
assists:- Al Murray, 1 assist.
Sunday put them back on the
winning track beating Port Elgin
4-3. Scorers were Rick Taylor, 1
goal; Doug Shiell, 1 goal, 1 'assist;

Lucknow defeated Listowel 9-1 in
a Pee Wee hockey game in
Lucknow January 7th.
Goal scorers- for Lucknow were
Dave Gibson', 4 goals and 2 assists;
Glen Raynard, 2 goals; Art Clark, 1
goal; Brian Taylor, 2 goals.

Midgets Win
1-4 At Howick
Lucknow Midgets journeyed to
Howick on January 4th and came
home with a 7-4 victory. • Howick
scored first and Mike McDonagh
tied it up for Lucknow on a shot
from the point before the end of the
first period.
In the second, Howick again
scored first but Lucknow came back
with two to take the lead.
Marksmen were Mark Frayne from
Tom Sinnett and Eric Cayley; and
Sinnett from Frayne.
In the third period Lucknow
scored 4 goals while allowing only
two for the home team. Point.
getters were Grant Gilchrist, from
Steve Hamilton and David/Erring-
ton; Ron Johnson from Hamilton
and Errington; Frayne unassisted;
and Jim VanOsch from Frayne and
Sinnett.
The local team is conducting a
series of three 50-50 Draws to help
defray team expenses. Team
members are selling the tickets at
50c or 3 for $1.00. First draw will
be January 18.

Tournament
On Sunday, January 2 a Pee Wee
hockey tournament was held in the
Lucknow arena.
There were 7 teams entered, but
Seaforth failed to show up so only
six teams competed.
At 1,8 o'clock Lucknow was to
meeeSeaforth but Seaforth didn't
appear, so Lucknow won, this by
default.
The second game was Goderich
and Exeter "with Exeter defeating
Goderich.
The third saw Kincardine taking
on Clinton. Clinton won this one
quite easy.
In the fourth game, Lucknow met
Brussels and defeated them 3-0.
Goal scorers for Lucknow were
Dave Gibson unassisted, Ken Alton
from Dave Gibson and Allan Eadie
from George Alton.
In the fifth game, Exeter took on
Clinton and defeated them.
In the final game Exeter proved
to be the strongest team when they
defeated the Lucknow boys 4-0.,
This was a very hard fought game
with 24 penalties called. Exeter
were champions, with Lucknow
being the runner up. This gave the
local boys a chance to compete in
the district finals in Seaforth on
January 29.
The Lucknow boys all received
Royal Canadian Legion Zone Cl
runner up crests and would like to
thank the Lucknow Legion for
sponsoring them in these tourna-
ments.

Wingham General Hospital on
Wednesday of last week, by
ambulance. ,

family had her brother, Mr. and
