HELENS ST. HELENS SNOWMOBILE CLUB In spite of the blustery weather on December 17, sixteen members met at the hut for trail riding. The ride did not go as well as the last run as Harold Errington spent most of his time repairing his machine while the remainder of the group travelled on only to get lost in one bush,, where they couldn't find the route home: Alas they returned by the highway and sideroads. Chili con carne and hot coffee were served fora lunch. The next trail ride will be January 14th, 1977. CELEBRATE 25th ANNIVERSARY A surprise anniversary party was held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur VVoodcock to honour them on their recent 25th wedding anniversary. Following the soc- iable evening Art and Carrie were presented with gifts of an ice bucket and slow cooker. The couple then cut their anniversary cake and shared it with all their friends, neighbours and relatives who were present. Best wishes are extended to both of them for another 25 years. FRACTURES' HIP Mrs. John (Mary) Cameron is a patient in the University Hospital in London. ' She underwent surgery to repair a broken hip bone. The community sends her get well wishes for a speedy recovery. Martin Wright -of Harrogate, England,, is visiting with Mr. and Mrs.. Michael Naylor and family for a few days. He hopes to remain in Canada for approximately nine 'months touring about and visiting the country before returning home: Mr. and 'Mrs. Gordon McPher- son and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thompson and family of Caledon enjoyed Christmas with Mrs. Marg Black and family of Lucknow. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Cranston were visited by Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Grigg and family of Kitchener during the Christmas holidays. Jim. Hunt of Owen Sound spent a few days with his grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. John Rutherford spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. Donald Paquette and family of Ripley. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Todd enjoyed the company of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Maclntyre and family of Willowdale during the Christmas weekend. Mrs. Lizzie Jane Shetler recently returned home from London hos- pital following an appendectomy. The 'community wishes her a speedy recovery. The next meeting of the St. Helens Women's Institute will be held January 6th at 2.00 at the Hall. The dessert meeting has as the roll call "A resolution that may be kept daily". All members are asked to attend. Douglas Miller and his friend Eddy Chik, both students at the University of Guelph, spent the holiday week with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allan . Miller. Eddy's home is in Hong Kong. Kinloss Central Public School at Holyrood on Friday afternoiin. Word was received here of the death of Bert Thompson of Brantford, and formerly of conces- sion 10 Kinloss. We extend sympathy to his family and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Shaw and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Shaw attended a wedding at Barrie on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Burt, Paul and Terry, held their family Christmas on Saturday. Mrs. Gwen Fawthrop and her family of Stouffville "visited on Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. William E. Haldenby. The TV program "Gardening With Gwen" featured the family on Christmas Day at 1 o'clock. Mrs. Pearl Lloyd, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Lloyd and their son Bill of Burlington visited on Sunday with Edna and May Boyle and with relatives' in Kincardine. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Whiteside of Toronto spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Haldenby.' On Sunday following the Angli- can service the Sunday School held their Carol Sing and a program under the leadership of Mrs. Gerald Rhody and Michele Hod- gins.. Karen and Debbie Hedley sang a Christmas song and all the pupils sang Jesus loves me. Janet and. Joyce Lane sang "Away in a manger". Lindell Cross gave a suitable Christmas reading. Jenni- fer Collins gave a nice recitation. Carols were sung by all followed by the giving of the gifts and Christmas treats. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Hedley, Debbie and Karen, and Mrs. Bertha ' Haldenby attended a pre Christmas dinner at the home of Miss Cathy Medley at Kitchener on Sunday. They also called on Mr. and Mrs. Fred Friendorf and Jason at Elmira. Mrs. Gertrude Walsh "visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Nicholson and Lois. Holiday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bill MacPherson of Holyrood were the latter's brother and his wife Mr. and Mrs. Dean Wilson and Miss Marguerite Drone, all of Hamilton, Jim Steven of R. R.
