Lucknow Lancer
Hockey Report
The Lucknow Lancers started off
the new year with a big win over
Clinton. On January 2, Clinton
came to town short -handed with
only ten players and were no match •
for the Lancers who were at full
strength. Terry Taylor filled in, in
net for the sick Bob O'Donahue.
The Lancers took control of the
game right from the start with
Dave MacKinnon scoring from the
face off in the first minute of play.
Phil Paquette scored from Graham
Hamilton' and Phil Petrie. Mike
Courtney 'scored unassisted to end
the first period three nothing.
Clinton came on strong in the ,
second period and bottled up the
Lancers, outscoring them three to
one with Jim Murray's goal
keeping the Lancers in the lead
from Phil Petrie and Jim Farrish.
The Lancers came back to life in the
third period out scoring Clinton five
to two with Haqey Livingston
scoring twice, Mark Chisholm,
John MacKenzie and Jim Murray
each scoring one to finish the game
nine to five. The Lancers showed
their offensive ability in this game
as in the past. If the team
continues to improve they could
give the Port Elgin Sunoco's a good
chase for first place in the league.
Thanks for the fine fan support
through the first half of the season.
We hope to show some real good
hockey in the games to come.
