PAGE 47. jBWWKF" DON’T J xtAz- Christmas meeting Walton I unit held their Christmas meeting Wednesday evening, De­ cember 14 when a pot luck supper was enjoyed by all with 25 members and guests present in the basement of the church. The devotions were presented by Marjorie Humphries with a Christ­ mas Tableau assisted by Judy Emmirch and Marie Coutts. Christ­ mas carols were sung with Doreen Hackwell the pianist. The story of the Legend of the Black Madona was given by Marie McGavin in the absence of Rev. Bonnie Lamble. Marie McGavin opened the busi­ ness with a poem, Christmas Gifts. Minutes were read by Audrey Hackwell. Roll call was answered by a Christmas symbol and song. Announcements of coming events were given out by the President. There will be a Christmas Eve Service at 8:30 p.m. Bluevalc Church will have their Christmas Eve Service at 7 p.m. Music numbers were given' by Gloria Wilbee then all joined in with Christmas songs. The evening was closed with prayer. The gift ex­ change was in charge of Gloria Love and Viola Traviss. People Members of the McLaughlin family held their Christmas get- together in the Walton Hall on Sunday. Home from Clinton hospital is Elva Bolger and Chris Stevenson who spent a couple of days recently in University Hospital, London. All their friends wish them a good recovery. People in the village appreciated the junior choir and their leader Rev. Bonnie Lamble when they sang Christmas Carols from door to door last Thursday evening. Glenda Carter was organist for the Christmas Hymns. The junior choir sang an anthem, “Welcome the Babe’’ accompanied by Marion Godkin at the piano. Rev. Bonnie Lamble took as her sermon, “TheHandmaid’’. Decem­ ber ushers are Barry Hoegy, Ian Wilbee and Murray Dennis. The service at Walton will begin with the announcements at 9:55 a.m. during the winter months. Christmas pot luck supper. Later a short devotional period followed with Maxine in charge with the theme, Day of Wonder, and several Christmas Carols were sung. A few dates to remember were mentioned. The U.C.W. Installation is Jan. 8 and the annual meeting Jan. 22. Games were enjoyed bringing a most delightful evening to a close.
