Walton students perform Thebasement of Duff’s United Church waspackedwith parents, grandparents and friends for the Walton Public School on Thursday afternoon, December 15. “The Christmas Orange’’ was a musical play presented by the pupils of the Walton School. Mr. Gary Jewittwas M.C. for the following program. The choir opened with “Christ­ mas”. Characters were: Sarah age 14, Loni Horst; Jeff age 9-10, Chad Hoegy; Christine 6-7, Kerry Blake; Great-gramma, Stephanie Mac­ Donald; Miss Stone, Patti Jo-Ward; Santa Claus, Kelly Boven. Choruses sung were “Christmas Doll”, “Hockey Song”, “Fashion Par­ ade”, “World’s Best Christmas Tree”. A Christmas Tree in a one-room country school was performed. Welcome was Miss Stone; Opening recitation, Nicholas Den Haan. Taking part in the kindergarten poem - 6 little evergreens were: Paul Linton, Maegan Beuerman, Cynthia McClure, Rose Peters, Nicholas Saur, Joshua Horst. In the play “The Little Fir Trees”, trees were: Christopher Hill, Jody VanderVeen, Adam Koehler, Re­ bekah Brandon, Charlene Thomp­ son. Woodsman was Christopher Blake. The dog, Paul Linton. Fairies were Tammy McClure, Kassie-Jo Hoegy, Katie Emmrich, Leanne Den Haan, Katie Lubbers, Amanda McClory, Kelly McDonald. Santa was Bradley Lubbers. Grade one presented the play, “The Sulky Brownies”. Santa was Jason MacDonald; Mrs. Santa, Alicia Dalton; Two Brownies, Pam Elliott, Dennis Rykhoff; Toy Sol­ diers, Justine McGuire, Chris Sie- mon, Brian Hawks; singing dolls, Wendy Glauser, Melissa Dube; Teddy Bears, Corey Culbert, Brad Somerville, Matthew McLellan; Christmas Fairies, Jillian Houston, Sandra McNichol; Jack-in-the- boxes, Trevor Ward, Catherine Bourne; Dancing Dolls, Amy Short­ reed, Theresa Pryce, Janice McCal­ lum; Brownie Messenger, Ben Finlayson. Grade Two: Christmas Pageant: Welcome, Nicholas Den Haan; Narrator, Melissa Harrison; First Innkeeper, Kerrie McClure; Jo­ seph, RobbieMitchell; Kind Inn­ keeper, Sarah McLellan; Mary, Ellen Workman; Cow, Jamie Emm- rich; Sheep - Michelle Kuntz; Angel, Theresa McClory; first Shepherd, Jennifer Lubbers; second Shepherd, Darrell Dalton; third Shepherd, Jason Thompson; first Wiseman, ArmandDube; second Wiseman, Kevin Bernard; third Wiseman, Abby Dietz; Donkey, Carali McCall. For the Grade Three Square Dance “It’s a Marshmallow World” taking part were: ErinSiemon, Mark Beuerman, LoniHorst, Brent Hasel- grove, Melissa Pinkney, Jeremy Bennewies, Stephanie MacDonald, Brent Price. In the playlet “Tne Minute Cure”, playing the part of Mother was Sherry Power; Wesley, Mark Beuerman. The Drill, “Christmas Time’s A Coming” was presented by Jason Badley, Tracy Goodland, Jeffrey Bourne, Christina Kuntz, Matthew Shortreed, Erin Siemon and Craig Somerville. A tap dance was per­ formed by Brent Pryce. The concert closed with the choir singing “Miracles, Mysteries.” Grade One and Two students at Hallett Central School performed “Mother Goose’s Christmas” at their school’s concert Wednesday night. Santa Claus sure knew what he was doing when he chose reindeer to pull his sleigh.
