He added that he would like to get

he could more accurately estimate

the Western stocker market starts

Legion takes tour
P&H products are exported around the
world, to many of the same countries
where Cook’s edible beans are marketed.
As we celebrate this joyous season, I
would like to take this opportunity to offer
greetings to all the residents of Huron
County. On behalf of the Government of
Ontario, I want to wish all a happy and pro
sperous New Year.
I look forward to continuing to serve you
in the New Year at Queen's Park and in my
three riding offices.
Throughout their 75+ years, Parrish and
Heimbecker have developed an excellent
reputation for fair trading and good
business.

ers Bruce and Ross McCall, who sold
the facility to the Henschels in May,
1987, were granted an interim
licence to operate the facility until
the end of December, and have kept
the facility open from November 11
until the December 9 sale. But Mr.
Brindley said the McCalls had
declined an offer to continue the
operation until he gets his licence,
and had “walked away’ ’ from the
facility following the November 9
sale.
Kay Hesselwood was the organ
izer recently of a tour, which was
sponsored by the Blyth Legion
Ladies Auxiliary. On December 13,
42 people, 26 of them from Blyth,
travelled to Willowdale to take in the
musical production of the People’s
Church’s “Living Christmas Tree’’.
Most found the performance,
whose theme “Christmas around
the World’’, a feast for the eye, ear
and heart.
The church, which has 2,200
seating capacity, was sold out for last
week’s eight performances. The
Living Christmas Tree has been
presented for the last six seasons'.
Included in the tour was a
delicious, dinner at the Cambridge
Astoria Inn and Convention Centre,
which all enjoyed on their way to
Toronto.

MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE & FOOD
Cook’s is pleased to
announce we’ve joined
the P&H family.
On December 31,
1988, Cook’s will
become part of the
Parrish & Heimbecker
group of companies.
At Cook’s we’re delighted with the
acquisition. While P & H may be new
to Ontario’s edible bean country, they’re
well known in Canada's agricultural
community.
Founded in Winnipeg in 1909 by the
Parrish & Heimbecker families, P&H has
continued to grow and invest in agriculture.
Today, Parrish & Heimbecker employs
over 1500 people at 90 locations across
Canada... in grain elevators, feed mills,
poultry operations... even on P&H lake
freighters. Members of the P & H family
include Swift Feeds, New Life Mills,
P&H Foods (marketers of the Butterball
turkey) and Ellison Flour Mills.
You may not notice a great deal of change
at Cook's. You’ll find the same people
behind our counters, in our trucks, our
elevators and offices. You’ 11 still find the
Cook’s name on our facilities. And most
importantly, you'll still find Cook’s to be
the place where ‘ ‘you can trade with
confidence".
