enemy. And we fail to understand
the real meaning of Christmas.
When this happens we give up the
opportunity to experience the real
gifts of Christmas and settle for poor
imitation s. We settle for sentimental
mush instead of enduring love.
Instead of joy, we settle for a
momentary rush of emotion. We
settle for artificial attempts to keep
the peace instead of knowing innner
peace and true harmony. All in all,
we settle for the momentary thrill
over experiencing genuine hope for
the future.
As wethinkaboutthese gifts of
Christmas - LOVE, JOY, PEACE,
and HOPE, all certainly represented
in that first and greatest gift of
Christmas, Jesus Christ - we need to
be reminded of his words, “In this
world you will have trouble, but take
heart, I have overcome the world.
