was the winner of the Brussels
Merchant’s Shopping Spree Mon
day night. He calmly toured the
Brussels EMA and Brussels Village
Market scooping up $366 worth of
groceries in 60 seconds, just off the
record of $395 set last week by
Councillor Marv Stretton.
Harold and Violet Scheffner spent
the weekend at Bob and Mary Jane
Legers for a Christmas get-together.
A good time was had by all despite
the eventful shopping excursion on
Sunday.
On Sunday, Dec. 11 the Higgins
family held Christmas at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ward, Jeff and
Julie of St. Marys. Family members
attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Don
Edgar of RR 1, Alienford; Mr. and
Mrs. Brian David, Ashley and Ryan
of Shallow Lake; Miss Sandie
Kechnie of Exeter; Mr. and Mrs.
John Oliver and David of RR 1,

I would like to wish everyone a
very Happy Christmas, especially
those who are in the hospital and

their families on these occasions.
Also to our faithful readers of The

every week, Merry Christmas
Berva, Doc and Ann. It was nice to
see you again.
May old acquaintance never be

wishes to take this opportunity to express our appreciation for
the tremendous support and trust by the employees, in
particular, and the many dedicated producers and packer
buyers in general.
The past seven weeks have been possibly the most difficult
and trying period in all of our years in Brussels. Let me assure
you that it was your continued respect and confidence in us that
helped us through this rough period. We shall always be
indebted to the employees and producers for this expression of
good faith.
McCall Livestock, however, will continue to be in the
livestock business under the direction of Ross McCall. He will
be pleased to work with you in the purchase of Stocker and
feeder cattle, and in the marketing of livestock. Your continued
support will be appreciated.
Finally, let me assure you, if any problem arises in obtaining
what you feel is a fair settlement [with the Financial Protection
Board or the Receiver], do not hesitate to call 887-6481 or
887-6582, and we will do our utmost to assist you.
May the Spirit of the Season remove all doubts for the future.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all of You.
