The Bentley family held their Christmason Dec. 4 in the Commun ity Centre. Mr. and Mrs. Angus Starr and daughter Kelli of Allis ton visited Mr. and Mrs. Don Cotton. Knox Church is having their Christmas Concert on Dec. 18at3 p.m. in the Church. Donations will be welcome for the food hamper for the Salvation Army. Three applications for OHRP (Ontario Home Renewal Plan) fund ing came up for discussion again, but as only one tender was received for the proposed projects, rather than the three required under the terms of the provincial grant, all three have been put on hold until February, when they will be re-tendered. Mrs. White will write to the applicants and to the contractor involved to inform them of the decision. A request from an Alfred Street homeowner that the village replace a worn sewage pump was turned down, as it was when the same request was made to the Ministry of the Environment, which installed the original pump after it was determined the home could not be connected to the village sewer system due to its location. “We can’t afford to set a precedent in this matter,’’ Reeve Workman said.
