Phone 523-4360 Dora Shobbrook honoured by club The November meeting of the Cheerio Club was held on Wednes­ day afternoon Nov. 16 at the home of Beth Knox. Beth read a poem “These are my wishesforyou”. Edythe Beacom recited “In Flanders Field’’ and read a poem “November”. Beth read “AutumnTapestry’’and “The Trail Blazers”. Edythe read a poem on “The Maple” and “In Grand­ mother’s Day”. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Knight of London visited on Sunday with her mother Beth Knox. Vicki and Dan Colquhoun of Clinton visited on Monday with her grandmother, Dora Shobbrook. Sixteen Londesboro friends and neighbours had lunch on Sunday at the Red Maple Inn, Vanastra. Audrey Thompson read an address and the guest of honour, Dora Shobbrook, was presented with a gift “Welcome Friends” door sign for her new apartment in Clinton. Dora Shobbrook thanked them and a social time was held. June and Ted Fothergill and Nancy attended a birthday party for June’s sister, Miss Helen Marks of Clarkwood Estates nursing home, Palmerston on Sunday afternoon at the home of Carol and Bill Gilmore of Gowanstown. Communion planned at Londesboro United Greeters at Londesboro United Church on Sunday, Nov. 20 were Doug and Florence Snell. Ushers were Rhonda Howatt, Kerry Szusz, Lindsey Salverda and Bob Trick. Next Sunday, Nov. 27 is the first Sunday of Advent and Communion will be celebrated. A joint choir practice will be held Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 8:30 p.m. at Blyth United Church. Bible Study is on Wednes­ day, Nov. 23at 1:15p.m. at the home of Gail Dobie in Auburn. The Junior Youth Group will meet on Wednesday night from 6 - 8:15 p.m. at the pool in Vanastra for swimming. Thesermon topicwas “Between already and not yet - Living in between.” Laura Lyon was won by Vietta Hoggart. Minutes of October meeting were read and the financial report was given. Roll call was taken. Edythe and Beth presented Dora Shobbrook with a remembrance on her moving to Clinton. Dora thanked the mem­ bers for her gift. The next meeting will be the Christmas one. Members will exchange gifts with a three dollar value and it will be held on Thursday, Dec. 15 at four o’clock at the Hillcrest Restaurant.
