WMS remembers
Seven members and two visitors
attended the November meeting of
the W.MS. at the home of Yvonne
Knight. The meeting opened with

Passenger Planes” from the Novem
ber President Record.

unto Ocean “was sung. Two minutes
silence was followed by a short
poem relating to the observance of
remembrance day. “0 God of love.

entitled “True Freedom”. A read

Mrs. Edward, the Presbyterial
visitor, gave a delightful talk on
Remembrance. She covered the
subject as it relates to war, and also
as it reminds us of communion as a
day of remembrance. Herfather, the
late Rev. D.J. Lane was a padre in
the war and he carried a small
leather kit on a strap from his
shoulder. It contained all the
essentials for giving communion on
the battlefield, in hospital, or
wherever needed. It contained the
silver chalice with a glass insert for
wine, a little wooden box for the
bread, and three small linen cloths
for a drumhead table cover, and
serviettes. All of the contents were
decorated with a Maltese cross.
Laura thanked Mrs. Edward for
her interesting talk. The roll call was
a verse of remembrance. Eleanor
Stevenson reported briefly on the
meeting at Camp Kintail. Each
group is to contribute a banner for
the 75th anniversary of the W.M.S.
in London next summer. The leader
read “God is counting on you”. The
December meeting is to be a pot luck
dinner on December 7 at the home of
