Fourteen people were singled out for special recognition in Hullett Township recently, with each one receiving a Certificate of Recognition from the Hullett Recreation Committee for the contribution each has made toward the area’s minor ball program over the pastyear. Ryan Construction for snowplowing dur- ingthe 1988-89season. Mr. Ryan’s tender of $39 per hour and $20 per day standby was the only tender received. Council passed by-laws author­ izing the posting of 50 km./hour speed signs in the Graham Survey and authorized the execution of a recycling agreement with the Ministry of the Environment. Council also decided that a candidates meeting will be held on Monday, November 7 at 8:30 p.m. in the Cranbrook Community Centre to provide ratepayers with an opportunity to meet the candi­ dates for the upcoming Municipal election. Ratepayers are also reminded of the recycling information meeting being sponsored by the Walton Women’s Institute. The meeting will be held at the Walton Community Hall on October 26 at 8 p.m. The next regular meeting of Council is scheduled for November 7 at 6:30 p.m. . . I 1 The Hullett Recreation Commit­ tee has singled out 13 of the township’s top citizens, plus one Blyth man, for special recognition, presenting each with a unique certificate as a tribute for the contribution each has made to the minor ball program in the area over the past year. Receiving the honour were Les and Hazel Reid, Tom Duizer, John Radford, Clara Riley, Gordon Shobbrook, Hank Reinink, Gordon Radford, Dave Overboe and Roy Krauter, all of Londesboro; Ailene Salverda of RR 1, Clinton; Ken Anderson of Kinburn; Kriss Snell of RR 1, Blyth; and Gary Courtney of Blyth. Hullett Recreation co-or- dinator Neil Salverda made the presentations at a special cere­ mony at the Hullett municipal office, just prior to the township’s regular council meeting on Octo­ ber 18. “It’s your township we are trying to run for you, and we just want to say how much we appreciate your help,’’ Hullett Reeve Tom Cunningham told the award recipients. The special certificates were designed by Londesboro’s Robbie Radford, for the occasion that Mr. Salverda said he would like to see become an annual event. The tender price accepted by council was $46 per hour plus a standby charge of $30 per day. In other business, council in­ structed the road superintendent to contact the Ministry of Trans­ port and Communications asking the ministry to correct the spelling of one of its new street signs in the village of Londesboro from “Tru­ man Street’’ to “Trueman Street’’.
