THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12, 1988. 1000 attend annual Belgrave turkey supper Approximately 1,000 people gathered at the Belgrave Com­ munity Centre on Wednesday night, Oct. 5. At 7 p.m. Rev. John G. Roberts called for “Quiet Please,” gave the blessing and all enjoyed a hot turkey supper. Residents of this community wish to express sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Black of RR 1, Belgrave in the loss of her brother Wilfred White of Walkerton. The Belgrave Euchre Club are starting their weekly euchre on Wendesday night, Oct. 12at8p.m. in the W.I. Hall with everyone u/plrnmp Probably the largest single annual event to take place in northern Huron County the Belgrave Community Turkey Supper last Wednesday once again filled the Belgrave Arena from wall to wall with more than 1,000 friends and neighbours all sitting down together to a sumptuous Thanksgiving feast. The food Is prepared by volunteers in Belgrave and in the surrounding areas of Morris and East Wawanosh Township, and brought piping hot to the feast. Phone 887-9487 Belgrave WMS meets The W.M.S. meeting was held Monday, October 3 at the home of Mrs. Garner Nicholson. Mrs. Nicholson opened with the ladies reading in unison, “Come Ye Thankful People Come”. She then read a Call to Worship and took the service from the Glad Tidings. Mrs. Lottie Scott read scripture and Mrs. Mac Scott read the Thanksgiving meditation and prayer. Mrs. Nicholson gave a summary of the trip to Toronto for those unable to go and read a story from the “Record” written by Mr. John Congram whom the ladies met at the office of the Record, while on the bus trip. The secretary’s report was given by Mrs. Robena McBurney and Mrs. Ivy Cloakey gave the treasur­ er’s report An invitation was read from the Whitechurch ladies to a meeting October 13 and an invita­ tion to Teeswater Presbyterian Church October 17 at 7:30 p.m. Mrs. McBurney read a story on the life of William Barclay. The roll call was answered by stating People Mr. and Mrs. Ross Anderson visited with Mr. and Mrs. Rick Ball, Matthew and Alicia of Hanover on Thanksgiving Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Vincent and Carrie Milton, Mrs. Doug Mitchell, Scott, Jeff and friend of Hanover visited with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Vincent on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Americo Arruda of Fergus and daughters Maria and Michelle Arruda of Toronto visited Thanksgiving Sunday with the former’s mother Mrs. Dorothy Logan. Belgrave area friends and neigh­ bours extend sincere sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Black in the loss of her brother Lavern White who passed away on Friday, October 7, in the Wingham and District Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Glyn Wide, Kimberly, Jennifer and Trevor of HamiltonandMr. andMrs. Rob Nicholson of Listowel spent the holiday weekend with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Garner Nicholson. something to be thankful for this year. THE CORPORATION OF THE VILLAGE OF BLYTH IN THE COUNTY OF HURON BY-LAW #12-1988 A By-Law of the Village of Blyth in the County of Huron for the submission to vote of a question under the provisions of the LIQUOR LICENCE ACT, R.S.O. 1980, to the Qualified electors in the municipality. Whereas atthe time ofthe coming into force of the Ontario Temperance Act no By-Law passed under the Liquor Licence Act or any other Act were in force in the Village of Blyth; And whereas under sectiod 26 of the Liquor Licence Act, R.S.O. 1980, the Council of a municipality may submit to a vote of the persons qualified to be entered on the voters’ list and to vote at elections in the municipality any question [or questions] set forth in the Liquor Licence Act; And whereas the Council considers it expedient and desirable to submit to a vote of the persons qualified to vote thereon as aforesaid the following question: ARE YOU IN FAVOUR OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF GOVERNMENT STORES FOR THE SALE OF SPIRITS, WINE AND BEER? And whereas the Council considers it expedient and desirable that the vote on the question shall be taken upon the day upon which, under the Municipal Elections Act, a poll will be held at the next election of members of Council; And whereas it is necessary to provide by By-Law for the submission of the said question to the persons qualified to vote thereon and for the taking of their votes thereon; Therefore, the Council of the Corporation of the Village of Blyth in the County of Huron, enacts as follows: 1.
