Kelly Cook of Blyth hauled off more awards than any other grade 9 student at the Central Huron Secondary School Commencement ceremony Friday night. She won the W. D. Fair Scholarship for general proficiency, the A. H. Carter Award for science and the Canadian Parents for French award. United Church celebrates Communion Blyth United Church celebrated World Wide Communion Sunday, Oct. 2. The choir’s anthem was “Break the Bread.’’ Frances Bearss was the junior congregation leader and Kathy McNichol was in the nursery. Serving elders were Bodie Craig, Fred Howson, David Webster, Melda McElroy, Jack Blake, Earl Fyfe, Evalena Webster and Vera Hesselwood. Rev. Ramirez based his sermon on John 6: 51-58 stressing the real meaningof the communion ser­ vice. The men were reminded of their choir practice for Anniversary Sunday. Dorothy Elliott and Lenora Davidson poured tea. “Lost Heir’’ will be starting on Wednesday, Oct. 12 in Blyth Memorial Hall at 8 p.m. Everybody is welcome. Lillian Patterson has returned home from London’s Victoria Hospital and is now in Clinton Public Hospital. LB. SAUSAGE 2.59 NOMINATIONS NOTICE TO MUNICIPAL ELECTORS VILLAGE OF BLYTH TAKE NOTICE that persons may be nominated as candidates in an election between 9 o’clock in the forenoon and 5 o’clock in the afternoon of nomination day, Monday, October 17,1988, but nothing in section 35 of the Municipal Elections Act, R.S.0.1980, c. 308 prevents a person filing a nomination paper with the clerk during his normal office hours during the four days immediately preceding nomination day.
