Blyth Scouts recruit new leaders Registration for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts for the Blyth - Londesborough - Auburn area took place on Thursday, Sept. 8 in Blyth Public School. A short meeting preceded the actual registration to introduce the Group Committee members and the leaders. Leader of each section highlighted activities for the com ing year. An appeal was issued for more leaders so that all boys could take advantage of these excellent clubs. Leaders for Beavers recently volunteered. Leader in charge will be Sharon Wilson assisted by Rosemary Fidom, Debbie De Wolfe and Diane Higgins part- time. On registration night, one leader for Cubs and one leader for Scouts came forward. Cub leaders will be Herb Shannon and John Westervelt. Scout leaders will be Rainer Saur and Dave Lee. Dates and times for the first meeting of all sections are yet to be finalized. Registrations for boys aged 11 - 14 can now be accepted for Scouts by phoning Jackie Lantinga, 523- 4424, and filling out a registration form. You are invited to share in the excitement of having a full scout ing program in Blyth once again after the absence of Scouts this past year. Jim and Mary Ann Howson have returned from a 17-day Agriculture Tour of England, Scotland and Wales, which was sponsored by Dealers’ Supply. The highlight for them in England was Windsor Castle, London, and in Scotland viewing the thousands of sheep on the hills of the picturesque countryside where they enjoyed picking sprigs of heather to take home. They also were fascinated by the Mass Tatoo in Edinburgh. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Mont gomery of Blyth and Winnie Vincent of Blyth visited with Archie’s brother Lloyd and Ethel Montgomery of Wingham. His brother is recuperating after an operation in the Wingham Hospi tal. Mrs. Pearl Bromley visited with Mrs. Winnie Vincent one after noon.
