The fox and the vixen ran to- gether Silently through the starry weather. The buck and the doe and the fawn came drifting Into the clearing. The rabbit, lifting His ears, shook white from the twigs he brushed; The chattering squirrel for once was hushed. As he sat with his paws against his breast, And the bobcat crouched on the mountain crest. Safe in the fold the silver sheep Told the young lambs ndt to leap. In the shadowy stable the horses stood Hearing the quietness in the wood, And the cattle sighed in the fragrant barn, Waiting the instant of the morn. The stars stood at midnight, and tame or wild, All creatures knelt to worship the Child. T' Anonymous The birth of Jesus is the happiest event in history. When Mary gave birth to the infant Jesus in Bethlehem, the very heavens rejoiced. With Christ's birth came the first Christmas morning on earth, a morning of purest joy, for it was then that God sent His only begotten Son-into the world. Centuries have passed, thrones have crumbled Into dust—but the joy remains. The Saviour has come. It is sad that in the midst of joy there are many yet in their sins. It is not God's will that the world be filled with cares, concern, worryings. God has not intended that sin should reign on the earth. His will is that man live in communion with God and rest content in His peace, that old and young, sick and well, should see in the Christ of Bethlehem the giver of life and eternal happiness. Without Him there is nothing but darkness and endless care. With Him there is light, life, and joy without end. A most blessed Christmas to our friends everywhere! . •Elmer and John Elmer Umbach Discount Pharmacy tir
