On Thursday, in Mildmay,
good goaltending was the
name of ,the g'ame and the
score was the lowest of any
game to date. Mildmay man-
aged the game's first goal
late in the second period but
that- was all the defensive
crew allowed.
Special mention to Jamie
Humphrey for shut-out goal-
tending during his half of the
game, including a penalty
shot assessed when one of
our deferiseinen gathered in
a sure goal in the goal
crease. w
The Lucknow lads tied the
score before the end of the
second and managed . the
game winner about midway
through the third. This was a
good game with lots of action
and only one penalty called
against each team: Final
'score Lucknow 2, Mildmay 1.
At home to Tiverton on
Friday the Pee. Wees contin-
ued their high scoring series
with Tiverton. The game
ended as an 8 - 7 victory but
defensive lapses and many
penalties took some of the
spark :from a good scoring
display.
Luckfiew opened the scor-
ing but had to, work hard to
stay in the game as Tiverton
scored three in a row. After
two periods, with good action
at both ends, the score was
tied 4 - 4.
In the third, the Co-op
specials scored four in a row
and victory seemed secure.
until Tiverton's, high scoring
Mike Quipp scored three
goals in less than two, min-
utes. 'The shock' was enough
to rattle the locals into action
and Tiverton did not have 'a
good shot on net in the last
minutes of the game. Final
score Lucknow 8, Tiverton 7.
