meeting of St. Helens Worn-
en's Institute. The roll: call

Arthur Scott from St. Helens
United Church was introduc-
ed by Mrs. Sybil Chandler.
He gave a most 'inspiring
address on Christmas and
was thoroughly enjoyed by
everyone present. He has
thanked and presented with
a gift by Mrs. Gordon
McPherson.
The program committee
took charge of the meeting
and began by a sing song of
Christmas Carols. Readings
were given by Mrs. Chand-
ler, A Christmas Letter;.

Mel Lyons did extensive
dantage to his truck during
last week's blizzard. The
vehicle slid off the road
during a white-out and hit

was a collection for the
Salvation Army. Mrs.
Paul Greenwood had a
Christmas flower
decorating demon-.
stration. A delicious
lunch was then served by
Mrs. Don• McCosh and
Mrs. Paid Greenwood.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Reid
and Larry visited with
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Collins" of Ashfield
Township on Saturday
night.
Rob Sutton of London
and Mr. Paul Greenwood
of Wingham visited with
Mrs. John Farrell on
Sunday afternoon. On
Saturday, the Farrells
had Fred and Judy
Wright of Toronto visiting
with them.
Last Wednesday, the
Bruce County Federation
of Agriculture 'Annual
Meeting and Banquet was
held at Elmwood. Mr.
and Mrs. Cecil Sutton and
Mr. and Mrs. Don
McCosh attended from
this community.
Congratulations to John
McAuley who was elected
Second Vice President.
The community is
sorry to hear that Sam
Emerson has suffered a
stroke recently. He is in
Kincardine Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Gillies entertained Jack
and Hilda Beirnes of
Stratford on Saturday
evening.
Mrs. Ben Scott has
been 'in Kincardine
Hospital recovering from
pneumonia.
Mr. and Mrs. Morley
Scott had dinner at the

Kincardine on Sunday.

on Sunday, Mrs. Frances
Emerson, Frank and
