We are pleased to report that Victor Emerson and Tom Inglis were able to return on Tuesday, last to their homes from Wingham and District Hospital, Miss Mildred McClenag- han visited Friday in Goder- ich with her mother, Mrs. Lillian McClenaghan, and. also called on Mrs. Jack Ryan, also a hospital patient. Lyle Willis, of Listowel isited on Saturday with rony Falconer. Miss Annie Kennedy was taken on Monday last to Victoria Hospital, London. Her many friends here wish - her a very speedy recovery. Mr. and. Mrs. Ross Durn- in, Stephen, Ruth Ann.• and_ Colleen of St. Helens were Saturday evening visitors with his parents, Mr, and Mrs. Lorne Durnin. • Mr. and Mrs. •Bill Evans were- in London—last week from Tuesday to Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Eric Evans. We are sorry to report that Mrs; Angus Falconer has been confined the last week to Wingham Hospital with the flu. Brian Falconer of Sarnia' brought his grandthother, Mrs. Robert Mowbray, home on Saturday where she had. been with Mr. .and Mrs, Relison Falconer and for a week. On Friday evening, the Young Peoples ,.Society held an Old Tinte-bance the Whftechurch Hall with Joe Tiffin's Orchestra supplying music. A good crowd at- tended and all enjoyed the evening. Word was received on Fri- , day 'by Miss Mildred Mc- Clenaghan that the late •Mr. ,Cameron Flood's wife passed- away suddenly at her home in Stratford. She had just returned home from Mary Hastings's party, The late Mr. Flood had boarded for Some dine at the home of Mrs, , Lillian McClenaghan while he worked at the gravel pit and was well „known:.by. the folks of the village, Mr. Flood passed away in Sept- ember. President Margaret MacDonald wished everyone a Happy Christmas and New Year. On December 3 The Town and Country held their Christmas party in the Leg- ion rooms. Mrs. Harvey Webster was convener for the evening. Mrs. Anna Johnstone opened -with 0 Ca-nada. Mrs:--Harvey Web- ster welcomed everyone and did a reading, Santa_andike_m 'he president, Margaret ,iacDonald, with a loVely orsage. The Rhythm Band present- ed a few carols on their Kazoos.and the club joined in singing along. Mrs, Cyril Brown gave some piano selections. Mrs. Ed McQuil- li .1 played the violin accom- panied by Mrs. Pete Cook on piano. Mrs. Jean Jardine gave three monologues. Mrs. Bert Moffat gave a piano selection. Mr. Harry Lavis played mouth organ' selec- tions and Mrs. Gertrude Leddy gave readings.. Mrs. Bet t Moffat and Mrs. Ivor Conley played piano and banjo duets. Mrs. Elleda Wightman gave a reading. Mrs. Harvey Webster gave a solo accompanied by Mrs. Moffat. Christmas carols were sung by all the mem- bers.
