Russell Dow travelled to New Zealand in the spring: to select new bloodlines to introduce into Canada, , The ram which was purchased for $5,000 is the most expensive ram ever purchased in the. Southdown breed in Canada. The outstanding feature of this particular ram is its ely-long-body,it-is-nuteh-longer--than-any-compare to'in Canada. The purchase also included six other rams and twelve ewes. • The Todds hope to improve the breeding in Canada with their new purchase and anticipate making future . sales to the United States rather than having all Canadian breeders making, purchases froM the Americans. For several years now Canadians have had to turn to the U.S. for breeding stock due to the lack of fresh bloodlines in Canada. Donnybrook LICW The Donnybrook.
