On Tues., Sept. '30 our
cross country team
competed in a meet at
Bruce Beach. The run-
ners were well prepared
this year after running in
our recent Run-a-than for
Terry Fox. Ripley-Huron
made a respectable
showing in both the junior
boys and girls divisions
finishing second and third
respectively.!'
Congratulations to
Jenny Burgess who
finished first in the junior
girls division. Other
strong' showings Were
made by Monique Bar-
vey, Tanya Hillier and
Victoria Plowright for the
girls and John Belly,
Kevin Pollock, Billy
Johnson and Matthew
MacLeod for the boys.
The boys and girls
journeyed again to
-Paisley on Sat., Oct. 4 for
the Bruce County Cross
Country Meet. The
weather was unfavorable
and ,many members of
the team did not attend.
At the meet more schools
attended than at BrUce
Beach and competition
was stiffer. However,
Jenny BUrgess finished a
strong fifth in a large
field of competitors in
junior girls.

Help
The books (thousands
of them!) are being
moved into our new
library but they all need
to have their cards typed.
Why parents are needed
to assist the librarian in
this important task.
If you have access to a
typewriter will you
volunteer 'a few hours of
your time?. This can be
done at home and speed is
no object (even two-
finger typists will be
welcomed!)
Your assistance in this
will be gratefully ap-
preCiated. Please contact
the school if you rani help '
us.
