She is replacing Mrs. Lois Tebbutt who is on. Maternity leave. Mrs. Allen. taught at Brookside several years ago .,. before leaving to teach at Clinton Public School for the past seven years. The scene "was set was set for the trOphy, games. Luck- now and 'Kingsbridge played a die hard gante with Luck- now breezing by Kings- bridge 2 to 1. Mark Londry - -and • Melissa- Becker -scored for Lucknow while Pat Frayne tallied for Kings- bridge. This was the upset of the year as this was Leck-L. now's first win of the season. Congratulations B champs. The A game was as every- one expected, a low scoring game, down to the last second of play. It pitted' the, two top teams of the year together, Colborne and Dun- gannon with ColbOrne -Win ning 2 - 0. Ken Linner and Monica Etzler scored the goals;- Lee Frisby had the , shut out. Congratulations A champs. Everyone appreciated the fine.job done by referee Dick Schoemaker and the great job the Colborne ladies did, selling pop and, chips. The free donuts were an added touch. Following the games, the coaches gathered and decid- ed on the individual trophy awardS. Pat Frayne received the most valuable player award while Lyn Murray received the most sports- Manlike Player award for the second straight year. Congratulations on a fine season teams and we hope to see soccer on an even bigger scale next season. SOCIAL" NEWS Mr. and Mrs. George Bell of Kincardine visited with Mel Jones oh Friday after- noon. Mr. Herb Culbert of Lloyd- minister, Saskatchewan, cel- ebrated his 99th birthday on August 29. Herb was born at Crewe, son of James and Margaret (Drainey) Culbert. He went to Saskatchewan as a young man and. married Corrine Rivard. They raised a family of nine daughters and three sons. His wife and one daughter passed away a few years ago. Herb is an ardent cribbage player and likes to travel. He plans to , attend the Culbert reunion in Dungannon on September 21. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Smith on the
