Madill Secondary School have been named Ontario scholars--for-achiev-- - Mg an overall average of 80 per cent.on any six Grade 13 courses. The 11 graduates have been recommended to the _ Ministry of Education for $100 scholarships. This year's Ontario Schol- ars include Gordon Alton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Alton, 1.. R. 7 Lucknow: Gordon, 18, finished the year with an overall average of 86.2 per cent and plans to attend the University of Waterloo in an honours course in mathematics. Chris Dubelaar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Dubelaar, R. R. 1 Wingham, averaged 82 per cent and will be taking an engineering courst at U of W. Tom Henderson, son of Mr, and Mrs. James Hender- son, Lucknow, completed Grade 13 with 81 per cent. He also will be attending the Waterloo university studying applied physics. Lynn Johnston, 19, daugh- ter of Mrs. Thelma Johnston of Teeswater, had an overall average of 80 per cent. She plans to attend the Univer- sity of Western Ontario in September, enrolled in an arts program. Jim Laidlaw, taking an honours course in business administration at Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo. James, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Laidlaw, ___Winghatn, completed Grade 13 with an average of 83 per cent, lan Mann, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sohn• Mann, Wing-ham, plans to fUTtlier his education at the University of Western Ontario where he has enrol- led in a natural science course, leading to dentistry. His Grade 13 average was 83 per cent. Kevin McKague, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth McKague, It. R. 2 Wingham, finished Grade'13 with 83 per cent. He 'plans to take 'an agricultural engineering course at the University of Guelph. Ken Metzger, 18, so of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Metz- ger, managed an overall average of 89' per cent 'for Grade 13.
