The death of John Burton
Collins occurred suddenly on
Friday, August 15, 1980 at
the Owen Sound General and
Marine Hospital.
He was born on November
8, 1921; the only son of the
late 'John H. Collins and Lulu
Dore.
His life time-..work had
been farming on his Century
farm, Lot 7, Concessipn 11,
Huron Township at- Purple
Grove. tie was the Rural
Mail COurier, on Route .4,
Ripley since 1971. For many
years he drove a scheol bus
for Bruce Ceach Lines. He
was a life-long Member of St.
Andrew's United Church,
Ripley and. has • served as
chairman of Board -of Stew-
ards.
On August 17, 1946 he
married Katherine Patterson
of-Concession 10.
Besides his wife he is'
survived by one son John•of
Pinehouse, :Saskatchewan,
two daughters, Sandra, Mrs.
Edwin McGillivray of Ripley
and Margaret, Mrs. David
1.pchhead of Kincardine, and
three granddaughters, Kelly
and Kristy McGillivraY and
Shanna Lochhead.
He is also survived by two
sisters, Helen, Mrs. Jerome
Schmidt of Mildmay and
Doreen, Mrs. Glenn Young
of Kinloss.
Re was predeceased by
one daughter, Mary Lou in
1957. "
