was in his 90th year and
lived on the family

township. He is survived

Last Tuesday afternoon
after meeting with the
London boys and girls at
the apiary on the. Sixth,
the writer accompanied
Gerald Wright of. RR 5
Cambridge (Galt) up the
6th concession to lot:14.
There we went back to
the Lewis cemetery
where he copied names
from the tomb stones and
took pictures for an ar-
ticle in the Kitchener
Waterloo Record
newspaper. Gerry
describes himself as their
roving feature writer.
Before coming down to
Ripley he talked to Goldie
Buckingham and Donald
Campbell in Kincardine.
In Ripley he talked to.
John C. MacDonald and
later in the week called
Clerk Marlene Coiling
and postmaster Don
MeLay. 'He plans articles
on the Lewis Cemetery,
oil drilling in Huron
Township, the salt well in
Kincardine Donald
Campbell, and the'late
Dr. Secord .of Kincardine.
And, he says that he will
likely be back to do one'on
the Ripley cemetery.-
While he was here he
showed that he had a
great knowledge of
history.
Last Friday afternoon
Mari . Fludder drove
home from London ac-
companied by her
daughter Cathy and Fran
Wylds. They had been in
the• pity since Tuesday
evening when Donnie
Fludder and Frank Abela
drove Joe FLudder to
London., On Wednesday
Joe entered University
Hospital where he is a
patient at present. The
next day (Thursday),
Mary had a post
merative appointment in•
'St. Joseph's,Hospital.
John and Janet Fludder,
Dawn and Brad visited
with his father at
University Hospital last
Saturday.
Passed away
Mrs. Jean Farrell of
Kincardine died in
Kincardine and District
Hospital on Tuesday of
last week in her 75th
year. The funeral service
was held at the Linklater
Funeral Home on Friday
afternoon folloWed by
interment in Kincardine
cemetery. Jean is sur-
vived by her husband
Walter and her daughter
Shirley Marie (Mrs.
Ronald Harris) of
Etexdale, Toronto, two
grandchildren, also a
Sister and a brother.

Aug. 22 Mrs. Mabel
Barnard will be attending
the Enumerators School
in Walkerton. Then.
Mabel will be travelling
from house to house here
carrying out the
enumeration in Ripley.

Corunna were visiting
with his sister, husband
and family. Mr. and Mrs.
Jim Stewart in Ripley.
Joe is a computer control
clerk working with the
Canadian National
Railway in Sarnia.
In his spare time he
hunts for lost coins using
his new' metal detector
and head Phones. On
Thursday afternoon last-
week he searched part of
-Gore Park-across -the-
road here coming up with
a Coronation Medallion,
and some silver Coins and
a gold button. While he
was working Pauline and
Bryan enjoyed playing in
the Park with Miss
Sandra Stewart keeping
an eye on them.
, Back home
Francis Gemmell 'of
Ripley was recently
underwent surgery in
Owen Sound General and
Marine Hospital was able
to return home to' Ripley
last Sunday.
