Mr. and Mrs. ',Andrew
Schmidt recently met for
a reunion picnic and
dinner., •Rosnor Farms, in
Carrick Township and,
northwest of IVIildmay is
now the home of their son
and wife Mr. and. Mrs.
Bob Schmidt. Norman is
well known here.

Stewart and Winnie
MacDonald of Belmont
visited relatives in this
area last weekend. On

the Dungannon Old Boys
Reunion then later in the
day they attended the
wedding of his niece Jane
Ann Coiling, daughter of

of Kincardine --and for-
merly of Reid's Corners
and Paul MacDonald, son
of Jim and Marie

On Sunday' they visited
with their relatives in-
cluding Isabel and Jim
Brooks in Ripley.
For several years in the
late forties throilgh to
1958 Stewart was the
principal of the Ripley
Public School.
Before returning home to
the Ripley School he
taught in Southampton
Public School where G.C.
Huston, better known in
his native Huron as Cliff
Huston, was the prin-
cipal. Stewart called at
the house here on Sunday
afternoon to renew
acquaintances.

have returned 'home to
Calgary after visiting her
mother Mrs. Reta ,Irwin
in Ripley and also with
her sister and husband
Dr. and Mrs, John A.

Stratford visited with his
sister Fran and Ab Wylds
in Ripley.
On Tuesday of last
week , Joe Fludder
returned home to Ripley
from Kincardine and
District Hospital. Both
Joe and his wife Mary are
recuperating'at their
home on Malcolm Street.

On Wednesday evening
July 30 the annual Ripley
and District. Lions Club,
picnic was held at the
Lions Park.
The evening was
arranged by Gerald and
Judy Colling and Ray and
Marg Fuller.
A delicibus beef dinner
was enjoyed by all the
Lions and their families
who were present.
Present were two
exchange students from
Finland, Erkki Paatoven
who is staying with Barb
and Charles Liddle,
Pekka Taneli staying
with Don and Anna
MacTavish.
From the Lucknow
Lions Club was Shannon
Daly from Minnesota and
her host family Mr. and
Mrs. Cliff Livingston and
Jon Richardon of Texas
who is staying with Mr.
and Mrs. C.E. Becker and
President of the Lucknow
Club Bill Nelson and his
family.
Lion President Ron
Nicholson presented the
students with a gift from
the Ripley Lions Club.
A vote of thanks was
given to the committee in
charge from all that' were
present,

Saturday in two district
Reunion parades. For-
mer chiefs, Doug Liddle
and Gord Scott had the
1947 Ripley,Fire truck in
the 'Kincardine Parade in
the morning and. then
dretiie- to Dungannon and
had it in the 125
Anniversary Parade
there:
The Ripley and District
Lions' Club had a nice
float in the Kincardine
Parade. Also this area
.was represented in the
Renniqn Parade in
Formosa 'last Saturday.

and Kinloss Telephone
had an entry in the
Dungannon parade.
The last train loaded
with baled hay for
Manitoba left a week ago.
On August the first all
shipments were stopped.
So now the farmers have
' changed over to har-
vesting their fields Of. fall
Wheat and grain-Wagons
loaded with wheat from
the combines are coming
to the. Grain Elevator
instead of the loads 'of
baled hay.

wich. Robert is employed
in a shop there. Last -

helped Ralph' Grubb get
the grain elevator belt at
the dryer back together
and into operation'after it'
broke. ,
The Henderson and
Ferguson reunion was
held on Sun,, Aug. 3 at the
Ripley and.District Liens
ClUb Park at Point Clark.
Those attending gathered

supper and had an af-
ternoon of fun and games.
Mrs. Garnet Henderson
of Lucknow received the'
prize for - the largest
family in attendance.
Mrs. Pat Evanitski and
two ' 'sons from London
came, the farthest the day
of the picnic, •
