He told the meeting all cars have
radios and if a call comes in QOM-
plaining about a trespasser, there may .
be a ,car in the area and the con-
servation officer could get to the
location in time to 'de'al with the
trespass incident.
"Your 'tax dollars pay for the
radios," said Evans, "you best get your
use of them." •
The new trespass act, which will
receive reading in the legislature when
it convenes in the fall, states either oral
or written notice must be given, but
both are not required.
Ashfield farmer and president of the
Huron Federation of Agriculture,
Merle Gunby commented the current
trespass act has become a "joke as a
deterrent".
"The new act will be a real deterrent.
It has some teeth in it," he stated.
Dirk Logtenburg suggested the
farmers place no trespassing signs at
the edge of town and turnthem around
so everyOne coming out can see them.
In town he noted, everything is con-
sidered private property.
