A week ago last Sun.
day, Tune 22, Dorothy and
Leslie Wardell of the 4th
concession west in Huron.
Township received the
sudden and sad news of
the drowning of their son,
01-en--W-ardetrat-Grande
Prairie in the northwest
area of Alberta.
His remains were
brought to London last
Friday morning and from
there to the MacKenzie-
lvIcCreath Funeral Home
in Ripley where visitation
was .held later "on .Friday
and , also on Saturday
morning.
The - funeral service
was conducted on
Saturday afternoon by
the 'Reverend' Bob PIA-
man of Pine River United
Church followed by in-
terment in Ripley
Cemetery.
Glen William Wardell
was in his 29th year, born
in Kincardine Hospital on
Wednesday, September
12, 1951. He died at
Grande Prairie on
Sunday June-- 22 as a
result of a beating
mishap. He is survived by
his wife Lori, daughter
Tena and•son Vincent, his
parents Leslie and
Dorothy Wardell, five
sisters Judy, Mildred,
Lois, Helen and Florence
and a brother Henry. To
all members- of „the
family, sympathy ijs
extended at -this time of

A graveside service
was`held at the cemetery
in Kintail -last' Saturday

Mrs, Marguerite Scott of,

Fire
On Tuesday evening of
last week; June 24, Ripley
fire whistle sounded three
blasts at 7:10. This was 20
minutes, before the
regular Tuesday 'evening
call for fire practice and
one blast more, so it was
clearly a fire call. A
number of firemen were
already at the hall and
others were on their way,
This resulted in almost.
immediate response.
Within two minutes Joe
‘Hodgins was driving the
red fire truck north out of

held their annual dance in

to return, home last
Wednesday afternoon
from Owen Sound
General and Marine
Hospital where She had
undergone .surgery the
previous Saturday.

Asferg, Denmark and

Andrea of Buffalo, New

Last Week Lene flew
from Copenhagen to New
York, then transferred
planes to Buffalo. Last
Saturday, Mr. and Mrs.

motored to

Lene will fly to Mexico.

also remembered for his

Junior Farmers for 15
