As a follow.:up to the..
county-wide Farm Safety
Program, which was featured
in all elementary schools in
Bruce County during the
month of. April, a farni safety

areas of farm safety. For
grade one, two and three it
was, "Hazards In The
Home"; for grade •four, five.
and six it focussed on,
"Tractor Safety"; for grade

"Dangerous Gases on the
Farm".

of Guelph. Prizes of $5.00 for

At the June 3rd meeting of
the Bruce County Board of
Education, a motion was
passed to continue the pro-
gram on farm safety for the
1980-81 school year. It was
felt that this year's program
which was taught to over sev-
enty-four hundred (7400) el-
ementary school students,
was an unqualified success.
Because Bruce County is still
the home of the family farm
where children are exposed
to and often expected to
become involved in the oper-
ation of farm tnachinery,
program on farm safety was
_considered by Board ..mem- _ •
bers to'be a necessity. If only
_one. life is sav ed, as result of-
this program, it will have
been a success.
