June 2, 1.980 saw the Noisy 'Ladies in Goderich to play their
arch rivals, the Superstars. In the past there have been some
•very close games between these two teams as both are very
evenly matched, but-it was-Lticknow's game all the way this,
tithe.
Behind Arlene Turner's first pitching performance in over
four years, the Noisy Ladies triumphed by a score of 1:1 3:
Arlene's pitching completely' fooled the. Goderich team -is
they hit groUnd balls to the infield all, night and got only four
base.hits in the;game, The Lucknow' team played some great
defense and the offense was Once again led by Judy ,Draper
who clubbed a three run homer;
Due 'to some poor scheduling by the league, the. Noisy
Ladies. don't play, their next game until,June 26th which is at
LuCknow at 8.0-p.m. against:Clinton Housewives whom they
haven't defeated in fOur years. So; to keep the Noisy Lady
Machine well oiled, they have beet playing eichibition games
against other local teams.
In the first of these, they played against a team from
Benmiller and lost by a 7 . 6 count: Failure to bring home their
runners, when they were in a scoring poSition and a' coUple of
fantastic fielding plays ,by the Benmiller squad, led to the
defeat. .
JUly 4, 5 and '6 are the, dates of the First 'Antuai Noisy
Ladies' Women's Softball ToUrnamehtin Lucknow.'CoMe put
and help support your team against :11 others tryingfor..the,
championship. Details will follow in next, week's paper.
