Construction Ole Opry Last Friday evening, June 6 will be remem- bered as the night when the Point Clark Kinsmen brought Nashville, Tennessee to Ripley, Ontario. Two of its stars, Jeanne Pruett and David Houston with their bands put on a two hour concert of country music for a large crowd in the Ripley and District Community Centre. Complex. Just ahead of the pea soup fog the big bus rolled into Ripley and stopped at the main corner where the thiver got directions to the-Complex from Elliott— Courtney. After the concert a dance was held with—Canadian_vocalist Denise Simpson and her band supplying the music. Despite the poor driving conditions due to the fog the cars really rolled into Ripley, coming, from as , far as. Wiarton for this concert. Special music • Supplying -special music for last Sunday evening's 'anniversary service at St. Andrew's United Church in Ripley was the "Gold Dust" band. Playing in' Gold Dust are Donna Ben- jamin, Kathy Nugent, David Benjamin, Dale Gilchrist, and Bill Car- son. Bill was back home here from Aylmer. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Harris of London spent last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Francis Gemmel' in Ripley. Passed away Frank Inksater Sr. of - Paris died suddenly last Friday. He was the husband of the late -Katherine McLay, sister 'Of Mrs. Margaret Gemmell of Ripley. Francis and Margaret Gemmell attended the funeral in Paris on Monday afternoon this week. Sympathy is ex- tended at this time of bereavement. Mrs. Margarei t Gem mell reports that the Ripley Women's Institute had a bus trip last Thursday to Stoney Creek where they visited the
