[Sentinel Staff Photo] • Drugs were stolen from the Medical Centres in Lucknow and Ripley on the weekend and .police say there are still no. • suspects, Thieves gained entry at the Lucknow Medical" Centre by prying open the north rear door with 4 tire iron. They took drugs from. the refrigerator and cupbard in, the drug storage room and ransacked the (Iodine -medical bags: The main, intent of the break and enter appears to be the theft of drugs because the Main office area and the medical centre's safe were left undisturbed. The thieves stole:four ampules of demerol, 20 ainpules• of talvvin, and 'a box of syringes.. The break, enter and theft occurred between 6 On. son May .31 and ,3 p.M. June I. The break-in was discovered by. Dr. D. Jolly on Sunday. . . 'Thieves ' also forced their: way into the Ripley modieal Centre on the weekend using the same .method. They, pryed open the northeast 'examining room window using a tire iron. • They searched all s the medical offices, files, drug cupboards and storage Area. Police are not certain what drugs were taken from the Ripley Centre, Drugs kept at the -Centre-.-are samples and very few narcotics are stored there, •Three full bottles of -valittrn were taken from the drug storage room and were left on the nurse's desk in the office. The petty cash draWer in- her• desk however, was not touched, The break-in in Ripley was discovered by Dr, W. Lucknow addresssed the Kincardine Minor Hockey Association banquet Friday night and enjoyed himself, as much as the young hockey, players. He reminisced about his—childhood days growing up in this area. He was raised on 'a farm at Lechalsh, east of Amberley, and remembers how in those days he didn't spend much time on a hockey rink. He grew up, he says, along the river just down the toad. He can remember the Maple Leafs were alWdys hiX favourite' team. Like the home town team, everyone in south-western Ontario likes the Leafs says Farrish, and he remembers that with the Leafs, playing, the Saturday night hockey game was always more exciting. He recalls he used to hide under the stairs to watch the Leaf games on television after he had been sent to ,bed. Mr. and Mrs. Neal Hageman came to live in the parson- age last week.,Mr. Hageman preached the morning sermon in the Lucknow church. Neal and•Sandy are now on a three week tripe to the Netherlands• to visit Neal's parents. They hope to be back on June 25th. Neal and Sandy both have a B.A. from Wilfrid Laurier University and a BRE (Bachelor of Religious Education from Reformed Bible College. Mr. Hageman also has a Masters of Divinity from Calvin seminary _and Mrs. Hagetnan has a Master of Aft and Teaching from Calvin College. Their interests are Missions, teaching the gospel and sports, especially basket ball.. , • Neal and his wife spent the last three summers working 'in Mexico. This summer they will be working in Lucknow C.R.C. In the fall they will be returning lo a full time mission position in the Dominican Republic. Neal was born in Sioux Centre, . Iowa.
