A family dinner at the
home of Rhea Whitby, Joack-
now, -honoured the 80th
birthday of Ida Mae Miller,
formerly of Ashfield Town-
shit), now residing at Pine
crestYMin-OE
Eldest daughter of the late
Andrew and Sarah Stein of
Ashfield, she was born 'in
Kamloops, Britich Columbia
On May 21, 4900. Her par-
ents returned to Ashfield
shortly after her birth and
she was raised on a faun
near Lanes.
In 1917 she married Har-
vey William. Miller, formerly
'of. Elmira, who was a black-
smith of Lanes' until his, death
in 1965.
Mrs. Miller lived with• her
children 'following her hus-
band's death until 1972 when
she went to live in Winghatn,
Following a stroke in 1973,
she lived With her daughter,
Rhea, until she entered Pine-
crest'Manor the. Same year.
Mrs. Miller has a fainily of
three daughters, Rhea, Mrs,
—Sid Whith-Y-, Liteltnav4-Rena-,
' Mrs. Lyle. Fitch, Lielmore and
Emmeline, Mrs, Ken Cam-
eron, Toronto and one son,
Elwood Miller of Toronto..
She has 12 grandchildren
and eight great grandChild.

Mrs. Miller is the sister. of
Mrs. Laura Patterson of Lon-
don, Lloyd Stein of Edson,
Alberta and the late Beatrice
Farrish.

and friends attended, the
quiet family dinner at the.
home of her daughter, Rhea,
on Sunday, May 18, to
celebrate Mrs. Miller's birth-
day.

erend Brian Edward Shoe-
smith, both of Dundas, was
solemnized on Saturday,
May 3rd, at the .church of St.
John the Evangelist, Kitch-
ener.
The Right Reverend John
Bothwell, Bishop of Niagara,
officiated and was assisted
by the Reverend John Whit-
tall of Hamilton. '
Paients . of the couple are

der of Waterloo and Mr. and

Hamilton.

A new program in Red
Cross Instruction 'is being
introduced. This program is
similar to the old but includ-
es several extra levels. These
extra levels will make pro-
gress through the system
