LARGER MOTOR
The water was shut off
in Ripley from one to
three last Thursday af-
ternoon. This enabled
"Hip" MacLeod of the
Kincardine P.U.C. to
make the necessary
connections to the new
large auziliary motor
which will be able to run
the piimp as well as pump
water from the storage
tank into the mains. The
first auxiliary motor was
not .big enough to run the
pump in case of a hydro

TRIP TO
OTTAWA
Christena Robertson
returned to her home in
Ripley this past weekend
after a two week visit in
Ottawa where she was
employed for over 25
years prior to her
retirement. While there
Chris called at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. William
England for a nice visit.
Mrs, England is the
former Margaret Bell,
eldest daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Bell of Ripley. Both Mr.
and Mrs. England were
on the collegiate teaching
staff in Ottawa. Margaret
is a graduate of the
Ripley Continuation

Tuesday of last week,
May 20, was a nice day
for ''the Ripley and
District Horticultural'
Society to' hold their
annual Spring Flower
Show. It Marked the firgt
time this show was held
in -the Huron Township
hall in Ripley. For some
years 'it had been held in
the Ripley Huron Legion
Hall and prior to, that in
the old Ripley firehall. A.
