Kay ..1VlacDonald is the wife of *john 'MacDonald, former native 'of the Eighth Concession West' of 'Ripley. Also she is the eldest dau-ghter of the late Rev. and 'Mrs. Geerge Gilmore who lived in Ripley from 1913 to 1922 when her father was the minister in Knox Presbyterian Church. The Lure of Learning is about Kathleen's mother- who was Jessie Ann Murdoch of Strathroy. She was one of the first women graduates at Western University. in university was presented ' the degree of Doctor of 'Laws, hertoris causa and in absentia, to Jessie Ann Murdock Gilmore. In • failing health she passed, away in November 1948.
