These porcelain 'dolls,' a collection made and painted by Marion IVICCharles, ,Ashfield
Township, were on display at the noon luncheon held at the SL AndreW's United Church,
Ripley on Thursday. Mrs McCharles makes, the doll.'s heads, arms.and legs front porcelain'
slip, and sews the bodies and' Clothes. She, does oldinipainting -mid'paints the faces of the
dolls, as well. The. SL Andrew's UCW hold the poptdar luncheon:, once a year and
approximately 210 attended ThursdaY's meal. Tickets are sold iii, advance only,

Coblentz family at Clifford
YoUng's home. The Coblentz
family lived across the road
from the. Young family on
what was then the 'Graham
Moffat farm, now owned by '
Mr. and. Mrs. Ron George.
The Coblentz family attend-
ed the wedding of, their niece
at St. Mary's ThUrsday and
as Vernon's father had been
in hospital, they wanted to
visit him also. He is out of
hospital, no w and feeling bet-
ter.' We all enjoyed the visit
with them.
The service at the Presby-
terian Church, Whitechurch,
on Sunday was taken in part
by a Gideon speaker from the
Guelph area. The C.O.C.
held their first meeting of the
season during the church
service in the basement of
the church.
Congratulations to Mr.
and Mrs. John Koobs of
Gowanstown on the arrival of
a baby boy, Peter Jonathon,
in Listowel hospital, last
Tuesday,. April 5, a brother
for Christena pnd a grandson
for Mrs. Roelie de Boer.
