There will be no Farmers' Market in
Lucknow this summer because of the lack
of vendor interest. There were several
vendors interested in working with the
Market Committee to organize a Market
again this year, but there would not have
been enough vendors to Make a success-
ful market. Rather than let the Market
limp along, it was decided to wait a year
and see if the market is missed.
Should farmers decide they wish to use
the .marketi-the-opportunity to organize
one again next year exists.
The market will •be missed by its
customers who could slip down to the
market Saturday morning and buy coffee
No Prmers7 .'otorket
cake for breaklastor raspberry pie for
dinner. It will be missed by those who
enjoyed buying the home made crafts and
those who stopped by, to browse.
The market was an idea which seemed
to carry a, great potential, with the Amish
community living in. our .area and its
location on highWay 86 where tourists'
could see it and stop. But the market
never really caught on' with those who
were potential vendors.
It was good- idea and one ,which.thoulcl,
never be put completely to rest. Perhaps
vendors and customers alike will missthe
market this sunimer,. and renewed z „terms
est next year will revive the market to be
the success it can be.

To the Editor:
We have come to the end of another
year. As P.R.O. for Kairsliea Institute, I
would like to thank the Lucknow Sentinel
for publishing our meetings throughout
the past year and I am looking forward to
seeing my write-upS in the paper in the
cdming year. This community is lucky to
have such an excellent paper. '
I am 'a wee bit disappointed that some
of my meetings have- Leen censored in the
past, e.g. the time and place of a next
meeting that is to be unusual or has had a
time change. As far as I can see this is not
advertising but just letting our Institute
ladies knOw what is going on. Hoping to
see my entire write-ups in future, I again ,
thank you for this excellent. service.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs, Clarence Ritchie,
R. R.'5 Lucknow.
